وَ لَقَدْ آتَيْنا مُوسَى الْكِتابَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ وَ لَوْ لا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَ إِنَّهُمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِنْهُ مُرِيبٍ

و لقد آتينا موسى الكتاب فاختلف فيه و لو لا كلمة سبقت من ربّك لقضي بينهم و إنّهم لفي شكّ منه مريب

Walaqad atayna moosa alkitaba faikhtulifa feehi walawla kalimatun sabaqat min rabbika laqudiya baynahum wa-innahum lafee shakkin minhu mureebin

موسي را کتاب داديم ، اما در آن اختلاف کردند و اگر نبود آن سخني که پروردگارت از پيش گفته بود ، ميانشان کار به پايان مي آمد و البته هنوز به سختي در ترديدند

و به راستى به موسى كتاب آسمانى بخشيديم، آنگاه در باره آن اختلاف كلمه پيدا شد، و اگر وعده پروردگارت [به تأخير حكم و عذاب] مقرر نگشته بود، هر آينه در ميان آنان داورى مى شد; و [اينك] آنان از آن سخت در شك هستند.

و ما بموسى كتاب آسمانى عطا كرديم (بنى اسرائيل) راه مخالف آن در پيش گرفتند و اگر حكم ازلى پروردگارت نبود (كه تعجيل در عذاب نكند) هر آينه ميان آنان حكم عذاب صادر ميگشت هر چند آنان درباره قرآن نيز در شك و ترديد هستند.

به یقین ما به موسی کتاب عطا کردیم پس در آن اختلاف شد [که از پیشگاه حق آمده یا ساختگی است] ، و اگر از سوی پروردگارت فرمانی [بر مهلت یافتنشان] پیشی نگرفته بود، بی تردید میانشان [به نابودی و هلاکت] حکم شده بود؛ و اینان هم [چون قوم موسی] نسبت به قرآن در تردیدی سخت هستند.

و بعزتم سوگند كه البته داديم بموسى كتاب را پس اختلاف شد در آن و اگر نبود كلمه‏اى كه پيشى گرفته است از پروردگار تو بيگمان حكم مى‏شد ميان ايشان و البته ايشان در گمانند از آن گمانى اضطراب آورنده

و به راستى موسى را كتاب [تورات‏] داديم، پس در آن اختلاف واقع شد، و اگر از جانب پروردگارت فرمان [مهلت‏] سبقت نگرفته بود، قطعاً ميانشان داورى شده بود؛ و در حقيقت آنان در باره آن به شكّى سخت دچارند.

به موسى كتاب داديم و در آن اختلاف شد كه اگر سخن پروردگارت از پيش نبود در ميان آنها داورى مى‏شد و مسلما آنها در باره آن در شكند.

و به يقين موسى را كتاب داديم. پس در آن اختلاف كردند، و اگر نه سخنى بود كه پيشى گرفت از جانب پروردگارت [در تاخير عذاب‏] هر آينه حكم كرده مى‏شد ميان ايشان بعذاب [در دنيا] و مشركان [از قرآن‏] در شك‏اند.

و بتحقيق داديم موسى را كتاب پس اختلاف شد در آن و اگر نبود كلمه كه پيش رفته از پروردگارت هر آينه حكم شده بود ميان ايشان و بدرستيكه ايشان هر آينه در شكند از آن كه گمان آورنده است

و به راستى به موسى كتاب [آسمانى‏] داديم، آن گاه در آن اختلاف شد. و اگر نمى‏بود وعده از پيش صادر شده پروردگارت، در ميان آنان داورى مى‏شد. و آنان از آن (قرآن) در شكّى قوى هستند

ما به موسی کتاب آسمانی دادیم؛ سپس در آن اختلاف شد؛ و اگر فرمانی از ناحیه پروردگارت در این باره صادر نشده بود (که باید به آنان مهلت داد تا اتمام حجّت شود)، در میان آنها داوری می‌شد (و به کیفر می‌رسیدند)؛ ولی آنها هنوز درباره آن شکّی تهمت‌انگیز دارند!

و هر آينه موسى را كتاب داديم، پس در آن اختلاف كردند و اگر نبود سخنى از پروردگارت كه از پيش رفته است هر آينه ميانشان [به عذاب‏] حكم مى‏شد، و همانا آنان- كفار قوم تو- در باره آن- قرآن يا آنچه ياد كرديم- به شك و ترديد اندرند.

و بتحقيق داديم موسى را كتاب پس اختلاف شد در آن و اگر نبود كلمه كه پيش رفته از پروردگارت هر آينه حكم شده بود ميان ايشان و بدرستى كه ايشان هر آينه در شكند از آن كه گمان آورنده است

و همانا داديم به موسى كتاب را پس اختلاف شد در آن و اگر نبود سخنى كه پيشى گرفت از پروردگارت هر آينه حكم مى شد ميان ايشان و همانا ايشانند در شكّى از آن شكّ آرنده

و ما به موسی کتاب (تورات) را دادیم پس در آن راه مخالفت و اختلاف پیش گرفتند و اگر آن کلمه (رحمت) از (لطف) خدا سبقت نیافته بود (که تعجیل در عذاب نکند) همانا میان آن امت حکم عذاب می‌رسید، و هر چند که آنها سخت در نزول آن (عذاب) در شک و ریبند (که تو را در وعده عذاب قیامت هم تکذیب می‌کنند).

ما به موسي كتاب آسماني داده ايم و در آن نيز اختلاف كردند. اگر به خاطر تصميم از پيش تعيين شده پروردگارت نبود، بلافاصله قضاوت شده بودند. حقيقتاً، آنها بسيار شكاک هستند.

And We had given/brought Moses The Book , so it was disputed in it, and where it not for a word (that) proceeded from your Lord, (it) would have been executed between them, and that they truly are in doubtful/suspicious doubt/suspicion from it.

And indeed We gave Moosa (Moses) the Scripture, but dispute arose therein. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, (the torment would have overtaken them) and the matter would have been settled between them. But truly, they are in grave doubt thereto (i.e. about the Quran). (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. , Page )

And We gave Moses the Book; and there was difference concerning it, and but for a Word that preceded from thy Lord, it had been decided between them; and they are in doubt of it disquieting.

Thus, too, have We vouchsafed revelation unto Moses aforetime, and thereupon disputes arose about it. [As was and is the case with the Quran, some people accepted the divine message revealed to Moses, and some rejected it (Zamakhshari, Razi), while others disagreed about the import and application of its tenets (Tabari).] And [then, as now,] had it not been for a decree that had already gone forth from thy Sustainer, all would indeed have been decided between them [from the outset]. [For an explanation of this passage, as well as of the above parallel between men’s attitudes towards the earlier scriptures and the Quran, see the second sentence of 10:19 and the corresponding note.] As it is, behold, they [who will not believe in this divine writ] are in grave doubt, amounting to suspicion, about what it portends. [Lit., «about it», i.e., doubts as to whether the Quranic approach to problems of man’s spirit and body – and, in particular, its stress on the essential unity of these twin aspects of human life (cf. note on the first sentence of 2:143) – is justified or not. In a wider sense, these doubts of the deniers of the truth relate to the question of whether religion as such is «beneficial» or «injurious» to human society – a question which is posed and answered by them with a strong bias against all religious faith.]

Wij gaven vroeger het boek der wet aan Mozes en er rees een twist over. Indien er vooraf geen besluit van uwen Heer ware uitgegaan, ten einde den tegenstanders dier openbaring uitstel te verleenen, waarlijk, dan zou de zaak tusschen hen zijn besloten geworden, door de vernietiging der ongeloovigen; want zij verkeerden daaromtrent in een zeer grooten twijfel.

And We have given Moses the Scripture, but it was disputed in. And had it not been for your Lord’s predetermined decision, they would have been judged immediately
. Indeed, they harbour many doubts about it.

Già demmo a Mosè il Libro su cui polemizzarono. Se non fosse per una precedente Parola del tuo Signore, sarebbe già stato deciso tra di loro; sono invece immersi nel dubbio [a proposito del Corano].

And indeed We gave Moosa (Moses) the Scripture, but dispute arose therein. And had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, (the torment would have overtaken them) and the matter would have been settled between them. But truly, they are in grave doubt thereto (i.e. about the Quran). (Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 15, Page 370)

Мы даровали Мусе (Моисею) Писание, но по его поводу возникли разногласия. И если бы не было прежде Слова от твоего Господа, то спор их был бы решен. Воистину, они испытывают смутные сомнения относительно него (Корана).

And certainly We gave the Book to Musa, but it has been differed about, and had not a word already gone forth from your Lord, judgment would certainly have been given between them; and most surely they are in a disquieting doubt about it.

And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, but there hath been dispute concerning it; and but for a Word that had already gone forth from thy Lord, it would ere now have been judged between them; but lo! they are in hopeless doubt concerning it.

And we gave Moses the Book, and it was disputed about; but had it not been for thy Lord’s word already passed it would have been decided between them, for, verily, they were in hesitating doubt thereon.

Yemin olsun, biz Mûsa’ya Kitap’ı verdik de onda ihtilafa düşüldü! Eğer Rabbinden bir söz geçmiş olmasaydı, aralarında iş mutlaka bitirilirdi. Hiç kuşkusuz, onlar, Kur’an hakkında, sürekli işkillendiren bir kuşku içindedirler.

We gave the Book to Moses, but there were disputes about it, and had it not been for a Word that preceded from your Lord (their disputes) would have been decided between them. But they are in disquieting doubt about it.

Yes, indeed, We had given Moses the Scripture too (in their language), and it was also disputed. And but for a Word from your Lord that has already gone forth, all disputes between them would have been judged. And, behold, they keep lingering in doubt amounting to suspicion concerning this Revelation as well! (The Word gone forth = The Law of free will (2:256), (11:118-119)).

We have given Moses the scripture and it was also disputed. If it were not for your Lord’s predetermined decision, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, they harbor too many doubts.

Of old we gave the Book to Moses, and disputes arose about it: and if a decree of respite from thy Lord had gone before, there would surely have been a decision between them: for great were their doubts and questionings about it.

We heretofore gave the book of the law unto Moses; and a dispute arose concerning the same: And if a previous decree had not proceeded from thy Lord, to respite the opposers of that revelation, verily the matter had been decided between them, by the destruction of the infidels; for they were in a very great doubt as to the same.

And indeed, WE gave Moses the Book, but differences were created concerning it; and had it not been for a word that had gone forth from thy Lord, the matter would have been decided between them, and certainly they are in a disquieting doubt about it.

Und Wir gaben auch Moses die Schrift, doch dann entstand Uneinigkeit über sie. Wäre nicht ein Wort von deinem Herrn zuvor ergangen, es wäre gewiß zwischen ihnen entschieden worden; aber wahrhaftig, sie sind in beunruhigendem Zweifel über ihn (den Koran).

Мы прежде дали Мусе Книгу, ■ Но с нею разногласия пришли. ■ И если бы Господне Слово раньше не явилось, ■ Они бы (за содеянное зло) ■ Несли бы наказанье в этой жизни.

Тәхкыйк Без Мусага Тәүрат бирдек, ул китап турында ихтыйлаф ителде бәгъзеләре ышанды, бәгъзеләре ышанмады. Әгәр Коръәнне ялганга тотучылардан ґәзабны кичектерү белән Раббыңның вәгъдәсе булмаса иде, әлбәттә, Аллаһ хөкеме араларында ґәзаб белән тәмам булыр иде. Алар, әлбәттә, Коръәннән шикләнәләр вә аның хаклыгыннан авышалар.

اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی تو اس میں اختلاف کیا گیا۔ اور اگر تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے ایک بات پہلے نہ ٹھہر چکی ہوتی تو ان میں فیصلہ کردیا جاتا۔ اور یہ اس (قرآن) سے شک میں الجھ رہے ہیں

اور بے شک ہم نے موسٰی (علیہ السلام) کو کتاب عطا فرمائی تو اس میں (بھی) اختلاف کیا گیا، اور اگر آپ کے رب کی طرف سے فرمان پہلے صادر نہ ہو چکا ہوتا تو اُن کے درمیان فیصلہ کر دیا جاتا اور بے شک وہ اس (قرآن) کے بارے میں (بھی) دھوکہ دینے والے شک میں (مبتلاء) ہیں،
