ذلِكَ جَزَيْناهُمْ بِما كَفَرُوا وَ هَلْ نُجازِي إِلاَّ الْكَفُورَ
ذلك جزيناهم بما كفروا و هل نجازي إلاّ الكفور
Thalika jazaynahum bima kafaroo wahal nujazee illa alkafoora
آنها را که ناسپاس بودند اينچنين جزا داديم آيا ما جز ناسپاسان را مجازات مي کنيم ؟
به خاطر كفرانى كه ورزيده بودند اين گونه جزايشان داديم; و آيا جز ناسپاس را كيفر مى دهيم؟
اين كيفر ناسپاسى آنان بود. آيا جز ناسپاسى را كيفر ميدهيم؟
این [سیل ویران گر] را در برابر کفرشان به آنان کیفر دادیم. آیا جز کفران کننده را کیفر می دهیم؟
اين (تبديل را) سزا داديم ايشان را بكيفر آنكه (نعمتهاى ما را) ناسپاسى كردند آيا كيفر مىدهيم جز مردم ناسپاس را
اين [عقوبت] را به [سزاى] آنكه كفران كردند به آنان جزا داديم؛ و آيا جز ناسپاس را به مجازات مىرسانيم؟
اين ناسپاسان را چنين جزا داديم، آيا جز ناسپاسان را مجازات مىكنيم؟
اين چنين جزا داديم آنان را بسبب آنچه كفران كردند، آيا جز ناسپاس را كيفر دهيم؟
آن جزا داديم ايشانرا بسبب آنچه كفران ورزيدند و آيا جزا مىدهيم جز ناسپاس را
اين سزا را به [كيفر] آنكه ناسپاسى كردند، به آنان داديم و جز به ناسپاس سزا نمىدهيم
این کیفر را بخاطر کفرانشان به آنها دادیم؛ و آیا جز کفران کننده را کیفر میدهیم؟!
آن [كيفر] را به سزاى آنكه كافر شدند و ناسپاسى كردند به آنان داديم، و آيا جز ناسپاس را كيفر مىدهيم؟
آن جزا داديم ايشان را بسبب آنچه كفران ورزيدند و آيا جزا ميدهيم جز ناسپاس را
اين را پاداششان داديم بدانچه كفر ورزيدند و آيا كيفر همى دهيم جز به كفرورزنده
این کیفر کفران آنها بود، و آیا ما تا کسی کفران نکند مجازاتش خواهیم کرد؟
ما اين چنين آنها را به خاطر كافرشدنشان به كيفر رسانديم. آيا ما فقط كافران را مجازات نمي كنيم؟
That We reimbursed them because (of) what they disbelieved, and do We reimburse except the (insisting) disbeliever?
Like this We requited them because they were ungrateful disbelievers. And never do We requit in such a way except those who are ungrateful, (disbelievers).
Thus We recompensed them for their unbelief; and do ‹We ever recompense any hut the unbeliever?
thus We requited them for their having denied the truth. But do We ever requite [thus] any but the utterly ingrate? [Neither the Quran nor any authentic hadith tells us anything definite about the way in which the people of Sheba had sinned at the time immediately preceding the final collapse of the Dam of Marib (i.e.. in the sixth century of the Christian era). This omission, however, seems to be deliberate. In view of the fact that the story of Sheba’s prosperity and subsequent catastrophic downfall had become a byword in ancient Arabia, it is most probable that its mention in the Quran has a purely moral purport similar to that of the immediately preceding legend of Solomon’s death, inasmuch as both these legends, in their Quranic presentation, are allegories of the ephemeral nature of all human might and achievement. As mentioned above, the story of Sheba’s downfall is closely linked with the phenomenon of men’s recurrent ingratitude towards God. (See also verse 20 below.)]
Dit gaven wij hun als vergelding, omdat zij ondankbaar waren. Wordt iemand zoo vergolden, behalve de ondankbare?
We thus requited them for what they rejected. And We do not requite except the rejecter.
Così li ricompensammo per la loro miscredenza. Castighiamo in tal modo altri che il miscredente?
Like this We requited them because they were ungrateful disbelievers. And never do We requit in such a way except those who are ungrateful, (disbelievers).
Так Мы воздали им за то, что они не уверовали. Разве Мы караем так кого-либо, кроме неблагодарных?
Так покарали Мы их за то, что они не уверовали. Разве Мы караем кого-либо, кроме неблагодарного?
This We requited them with because they disbelieved; and We do not punish any but the ungrateful.
This We awarded them because of their ingratitude. Punish We ever any save the ingrates?
This did we reward them with, for that they misbelieved; and do we so reward any but misbelievers?
İşte böyle! Nankörlük ettikleri için onları cezalandırdık. Nankörden başkasına ceza verir miyiz hiç!
As such We recompensed them for their disbelief; do We recompense any except the unbelievers?
This was Our Requital for their ingratitude. Do We ever punish anyone but the ungrateful? (Ingratitude = Refusing to share Allah’s bounties in equity. It appears that in the Kingdom of Sheba people were divided into two classes, the very rich and the very poor).
We thus requited them for their disbelief. Do we not requite only the disbelievers?
Such was our retribution on them for their ingratitude: but do we thus recompense any except the ungrateful?
This We gave them in reward, because they were ungrateful: Is any thus rewarded except the ungrateful?
Thus WE requited them because of their ingratitude; and it is only the ungrateful that WE requite in this manner.
Solches gaben Wir ihnen zum Lohn für ihre Undankbarkeit; und so lohnen Wir es keinem als den Undankbaren.
Так Мы воздали им за их неверие (в Аллаха). ■ И никогда и никому, кроме неверных, ■ Столь страшной карой Мы не воздаем.
Әнә шулай бакчаларын юк итүебез, көфран нигъмәт кылганнары өчен Бездән аларга җәза булды. Без фәкать Раббиларына карышып көфран нигъмәт кылучы кешеләрне ґәзаб белән җәзалыйбыз.
یہ ہم نے ان کی ناشکری کی ان کو سزا دی۔ اور ہم سزا ناشکرے ہی کو دیا کرتے ہیں
یہ ہم نے انہیں ان کے کفر و ناشکری کا بدلہ دیا، اور ہم بڑے ناشکرگزار کے سوا (کسی کو ایسی) سزا نہیں دیتے،
