قالُوا سُبْحانَكَ أَنْتَ وَلِيُّنا مِنْ دُونِهِمْ بَلْ كانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ أَكْثَرُهُمْ بِهِمْ مُؤْمِنُونَ

قالوا سبحانك أنت وليّنا من دونهم بل كانوا يعبدون الجنّ أكثرهم بهم مؤمنون

Qaloo subhanaka anta waliyyuna min doonihim bal kanoo yaAAbudoona aljinna aktharuhum bihim mu/minoona

مي گويند : تو منزهي تويي ولي ما ، نه آنها اينان جنها را مي پرستيدند و بيشترين به آنها ايمان داشتند

گويند پاكا كه تويى، تو سرور ما هستى نه آنان; خير، ايشان جنيان را مى پرستيدند [و] بيشترينه شان به آنان مؤمن بودند.

فرشتگان ميگويند: پروردگارا، پاك و منزهى تو. تو مولاى ما هستى نه آنان. آنها جن و شياطين را پرستش ميكردند و اكثرشان به آنها ايمان آورده بودند.

می گویند: تو منزهی [از اینکه در پرستیده شدن شریک و همتا داشته باشی] ، تو سرپرست و یار مایی نه آنان، [آنان ما را نمی پرستیدند] بلکه جنّیان را می پرستیدند [و] بیشترشان به آنها ایمان داشتند.

فرشتگان گويند تو منزهى (از آنكه ترا شريكى باشد) تو سرپرست مائى نه ايشان بلكه همواره مى‏پرستيدند پريان را بيشتر بت پرستان به پريان گرويده بودند

مى‏گويند: «منزّهى تو، سرپرست ما تويى نه آنها بلكه جنّيان را مى‏پرستيدند؛ بيشترشان به آنها اعتقاد داشتند.»

خواهند گفت: «تو منزهى، تو ولىّ ما هستى، نه آنها، اينان جنها را مى‏پرستيدند و بسيارى به آنها ايمان داشتند.»

گويند: پاكى تراست تو پروردگار مايى نه آنها [نه‏] بلكه آنان ديوان را مى‏پرستيدند، [و] بيشترشان به آنها ايمان آورده بودند.

گويند منزهى تو توئى صاحب ما از غير ايشان بلكه بودند ميپرستيدند جن را اكثرشان بودند بآنها گروندگان

گويند: پاك و منزّهى. تو كارساز مايى نه آنان. بلكه جنّ را مى‏پرستيدند. بيشترشان به آنها باور داشتند

آنها می‌گویند: «منزّهی (از اینکه همتایی داشته باشی)! تنها تو ولیّ مائی، نه آنها؛ (آنها ما را پرستش نمی‌کردند) بلکه جنّ را پرستش می‌نمودند؛ و اکثرشان به آنها ایمان داشتند!»

گويند: پاك و منزهى تو، تويى خداوند- يا دوست- ما، نه آنها. بلكه ديوان را مى‏پرستيدند، كه بيشترشان به آنها گرويده بودند.

گويند منزهى تو توئى صاحب ما از غير ايشان بلكه بودند ميپرستيدند جن را اكثرشان بودند بانها گروندگان

گفتند منزهى تو توئى دوست ما نه آنان بلكه بودند مى پرستيدند پريان را بيشتر ايشانند بدانان گروندگان

فرشتگان گویند: بار الها، تو از هر شرک و نقصی پاک و منزّهی، تو خدا و یاور مایی نه ایشان، بلکه اینان جنّ و شیاطین را می‌پرستیدند و به طوری که اکثرشان گرویده به آنها بودند.

آنها جواب خواهند داد: تجليل تو را. تو مولا و سرور ما هستي، نه آنها. درعوض، آنها جن ها را پرستش مي كردند؛ اكثرشان به آن ايمان داشتند.

They said: «Your praise/glory; you are our guardian/ally from other than them, but they were worshipping the Jinns , most of them with them (are) believing.»

They (angels) will say: «Glorified be You! You are our Walee (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinns; most of them were believers in them.»

They shall say, ‹Glory be to Thee›! Thou art our Protector, apart from them; nay rather, they were serving the jinn; most of them believed in them.›

They will answer: «Limitless art Thou in Thy glory! Thou [alone] art close unto us, not they! [Implying that they (the angels) would never have accepted that worship which is due to God alone.] Nay, [when they thought that they were worshipping us,] they were but [blindly] worshipping forces concealed from their senses; most of them believed in them.» [In this instance, I believe, the term jinn has its primary meaning of «that which is concealed from [man’s] senses» (see Appendix III), thus including all manner of unknown forces, both real and imaginary, believed to be inherent in what we describe as «nature». Hence, the answer of the angels implies that the sinners› alleged worship of them had never been more than a subconscious screen for their fear of the invisible forces of nature and, ultimately, of the yet deeper fear of the Unknown – that fear which sooner or later engulfs all who refuse to believe in the existence of God and, hence, cannot see any meaning or purpose in human life. En de engelen zullen antwoorden: God behoede! Gij zijt onze vriend, en niet deze. Zij baden geniussen (duivels) aan; het grootste deel hunner gelooft in hen.

They will Say: "Be You glorified. You are our Lord, not them. No, most of them were worshiping the Jinn; most were believers to them."

Diranno: «Gloria a Te, sei Tu il nostro patrono. No, essi adoravano i dèmoni. La maggior parte di loro credeva in essi.»

They (angels) will say: "Glorified be You! You are our Walee (Lord) instead of them. Nay, but they used to worship the jinns; most of them were believers in them."

Они скажут: «Пречист Ты! Ты – наш Покровитель, а не они. Они поклонялись джиннам, и большинство их веровали именно в них».

[Ангелы] ответят: «Пречист Ты! Ты – наш покровитель, а не они. Они поклонялись джиннам, и большая их часть веровала в них».

They shall say: Glory be to Thee! Thou art our Guardian, not they; nay! they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them.

They will say: Be Thou Glorified. Thou (alone) art our Guardian, not them! Nay, but they worshipped the jinn; most of them were believers in them.

They shall say, ‹Celebrated be thy praises! thou art our patron instead of them. Nay, they used to worship the ginns, most of them believe in them.

Melekler derler ki: «Tespih ederiz seni! Bizim Velî’miz sendin, onlar değil. Doğrusu şu ki, onlar cinlere tapıyorlardı. Onların çoğu cinlere iman etmekteydi.»

‹Exaltations to You! ‹ they will answer. ‹You are our Guardian other than them! No, rather they worshipped the jinn, and it was them which most believed. ‹

They will answer, «Glory is Yours! You are our Master, not them. Nay, they used to worship the invisible guises of their selfish desire. Most of them were believers therein.» (Jinns = Hidden from sight. Generally this term in the Qur’an applies to nomads rarely appearing in townships. It is also used to describe rebellious desire, emotions and fiery temperament like Satan (6:101), (18:50), (37:158), (55:15).

They will answer, «Be You glorified. You are our Lord and Master, not them. Instead, they were worshipping the jinns; most of them were believers therein.»

They shall say, «Glory be to thee! Thou art our master, not these! But they worshipped the Djinn: it was in them that most of them believed.

And the angels shall answer, God forbid! Thou art our friend, and not these: But they worshipped devils; the greater part of them believed in them.

They will say, `Holy art Thou. Thou art our Protector against them. Nay, but they worshiped the jinn; it was in them that most of them believed.›

Sie werden sprechen: «Preis Dir! Du, nicht sie, bist unser Freund. Nein, sie dienten den Dschinn; an sie haben die meisten von ihnen geglaubt.»

Хвала Тебе! – они ответят. – ■ Ты – Покровитель нам, а не они! ■ Не (нас, конечно), – джиннов они чтили, – ■ Ведь большинство из них уверовало в них.

Фәрештәләр әйттеләр: «Ий Раббыбыз, без Сине андый кимчелектән пакьсең дип игътикад итәбез, мөшрикләр безнең дустыбыз түгелләр, Син генә безнең дустыбыз, бәлки алар шайтаннарга гыйбадәт кылалар иде, аларның күбрәге шайтаннарның сүзләренә ышана иделәр.

وہ کہیں گے تو پاک ہے تو ہی ہمارا دوست ہے۔ نہ یہ۔ بلکہ یہ جِنّات کو پوجا کرتے تھے۔ اور اکثر انہی کو مانتے تھے

وہ عرض کریں گے: تو پاک ہے تو ہی ہمارا دوست ہے نہ کہ یہ لوگ، بلکہ یہ لوگ جنات کی پوجا کیا کرتے تھے، ان میں سے اکثر اُنہی پر ایمان رکھنے والے ہیں،
