وَ ما عَلَّمْناهُ الشِّعْرَ وَ ما يَنْبَغِي لَهُ إِنْ هُوَ إِلاَّ ذِكْرٌ وَ قُرْآنٌ مُبِينٌ

و ما علّمناه الشّعر و ما ينبغي له إن هو إلاّ ذكر و قرآن مبين

Wama AAallamnahu alshshiAAra wama yanbaghee lahu in huwa illa thikrun waqur-anun mubeenun

به او شعر نياموخته ايم و شعر در خور او نيست آنچه به او آموخته ايم جز اندرز و قرآني روشنگر نيست

و ما به او [پيامبر] شعر نياموخته ايم، و سزاوار او [هم] نيست; اين جز اندرز و قرآن مبين نيست.

نه ما پيامبر را شعر ياد داديم و نه شعر و شاعرى شايسته مقام اوست. بلكه اين (آيات موزون) جز پند و اندرز (براى جهانيان) نيست و قرآن روشنگر حقايق است.

و به پیامبر، شعر نیاموختیم و [شعرگویی] شایسته او نیست. کتاب [او] جز مایه یادآوری و قرآنی روشنگر [حقایق] نیست،

و نياموختيم به محمد ص شعر را و نشايد شعر گفتن او را نيست آن مگر پندى و قرآنى روشن كننده (احكام)

و [ما] به او شعر نياموختيم و در خور وى نيست، اين [سخن‏] جز اندرز و قرآنى روشن نيست.

به او شعر نياموخته‏ايم و شعر شايسته او نيست، اين كتاب جز اندرز و قرآن روشنگرى نيست.

و ما او را شعر نياموختيم، و او را سزاوار نيست، آنچه [مى‏گويد] جز ياد [خدا] و قرآن آشكار چيزى نيست،

و نياموختيمش شعر و نزد او را نيست آن مگر پندى و قرآنى آشكار

و به او شعر نياموختيم و سزاوار او نيست. آن جز پندى و قرآنى آشكار نيست.

ما هرگز شعر به او [= پیامبر] نیاموختیم، و شایسته او نیست (شاعر باشد)؛ این (کتاب آسمانی) فقط ذکر و قرآن مبین است!

و او- محمد (ص)- را شعرگفتن نياموختيم و زيبنده او هم نيست. اين [كتاب‏] نيست مگر يادآورى و پندى و قرآنى روشن و روشنگر

و نياموختيمش شعر و نسزد او را نيست آن مگر پندى و قرآنى آشكار

و نياموختيم بدو شعر را و نه سزدش نيست آن جز يادآورى و قرآنى آشكار

و نه ما او را (یعنی محمّد صلّی اللّه علیه و آله و سلّم را) شعر آموختیم و نه شاعری شایسته مقام اوست، بلکه این کتاب چیزی جز ذکر الهی و قرآن روشن بیان خدا نیست.

آنچه ما به او (رسول) آموختيم، شعر نبود و او (شاعر) نيست، بلكه اين مدرکي است محكم و قرآني است عميق و پرمحتوا.

And We did not teach/instruct him the poetry, and (it) should not (be) for him that it is except (a) reminder and (a) clear/evident Koran .

And We have not taught him (Muhammad SAW) poetry, nor is it meet for him. This is only a Reminder and a plain Quran.

We have not taught him poetry; it is not seemly for him. It is only a Remembrance and a Clear Koran,

AND [thus it is:] We have not imparted to this [Prophet the gift of] poetry, nor would [poetry] have suited this [message]: [This passage resumes the theme enunciated in the opening verses of this surah, namely, the revelation of the Quran. As in 26:224, we have here an allusion to the allegation of Muhammad’s opponents, in his own as well as in later times, that what he described as divine revelation was in reality an outcome of his own poetic invention. This the Quran refutes by alluding to the fundamental difference between poetry – especially Arabic poetry – and divine revelation as exemplified by the Quran: whereas in the former the meaning is often subordinated to the rhythm and the melody of language, in the Quran the exact opposite is the case, inasmuch as here the choice of words, their sound and their position in the sentence – and, hence, its rhythm and melody – are always subordinated to the meaning intended. (Cf. also 26:225 and the corresponding note.)] it is but a reminder and a [divine] discourse, clear in itself and clearly showing the truth, [For this composite rendering of the adjective mubin, see surah 12:1. Literally, the above phrase reads, «a reminder and a [divine] discourse…», etc., with the conjunctive particle wa («and») being used here, as in 15:1, to point out that the Quran is an integral element in the process of divine revelation.]

Wij hebben Mahomet de dichtkunst niet geleerd; ook is het niet nuttig voor hem, een dichter te wezen. Dit boek is slechts eene vermaning van God en een duidelijke Koran.

And We did not teach him poetry, nor does he need it. This is a reminder and a clear Quran.

Non gli abbiamo insegnato la poesia, non è cosa che gli si addice; questa

And We have not taught him (Muhammad SAW) poetry, nor is it meet for him. This is only a Reminder and a plain Quran.

Мы не учили его (Мухаммада) поэзии, и не подобает ему это. Это – не что иное, как Напоминание и ясный Коран,

Мы не учили его (Пророка) складывать стихи, да и не подобает ему это. [То, что дано ему], – это откровение и ясный Коран,

And We have not taught him poetry, nor is it meet for him; it is nothing but a reminder and a plain Quran,

And We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor is it meet for him. This is naught else than a Reminder and a Lecture making plain,

We have not taught him poetry, nor was it proper for him; it is but a reminder and a plain Qur’an,

Biz o peygambere şiir öğretmedik. Şiir ona yaraşmaz/layık olamaz da. Ona vahyedilen, bir öğütten ve apaçık bir Kur’an’dan başka şey değildir;

We have not taught him (Prophet Muhammad) poetry, nor does it become him. This is only a Remembrance and a Clear Holy Reading (Koran)

(Know about the Prophet that) We have not taught him poetry, nor is it meet for his dignity. This is no less than a Divine Reminder and an Articulate Qur’an clear in itself and clearly showing the Way. (26:224).

What we taught him (the messenger) was not poetry, nor is he (a poet). This is but a formidable proof, and a profound Quran.

We have not taught him (Muhammad) poetry, nor would it beseem him. This Book is no other than a warning and a clear Koran,

We have not taught Mohammed the art of poetry; nor is it expedient for him to be a poet. This book is no other than an admonition from God, and a perspicuous Koran;

And WE have not taught him poetry, nor does it behove him to be a poet. It is but a reminder and a Qur’an that expounds and makes things plain,

Und Wir haben ihn nicht die Kunst der Dichtung gelehrt, noch ziemte sie sich für ihn. Dies ist einfach eine Ermahnung und ein Koran, der die Dinge deutlich macht,

Слагать стихи Мы не учили Мухаммада, ■ И не годится это для него. ■ Послание сие – напоминание Господне ■ И ясные заветы Аль Кор’ана

Без Мухәммәд г-мгә шигырь өйрәтмәдек һәм аңа шагыйрь булу дөрес тә түгел, мәгәр Безнең аңа өйрәткәнебез вәгазь һәм ачык мәгънәле Коръәндер.

اور ہم نے ان (پیغمبر) کو شعر گوئی نہیں سکھائی اور نہ وہ ان کو شایاں ہے۔ یہ تو محض نصیحت اور صاف صاف قرآن (پُرازحکمت) ہے

اور ہم نے اُن کو (یعنی نبیِ مکرّم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم کو) شعر کہنا نہیں سکھایا اور نہ ہی یہ اُن کے شایانِ شان ہے۔ یہ (کتاب) تو فقط نصیحت اور روشن قرآن ہے،
