وَ تَحْسَبُهُمْ أَيْقاظاً وَ هُمْ رُقُودٌ وَ نُقَلِّبُهُمْ ذاتَ الْيَمِينِ وَ ذاتَ الشِّمالِ وَ كَلْبُهُمْ باسِطٌ ذِراعَيْهِ بِالْوَصِيدِ لَوِ اطَّلَعْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ لَوَلَّيْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِراراً وَ لَمُلِئْتَ مِنْهُمْ رُعْباً

و تحسبهم أيقاظا و هم رقود و نقلّبهم ذات اليمين و ذات الشّمال و كلبهم باسط ذراعيه بالوصيد لو اطّلعت عليهم لولّيت منهم فرارا و لملئت منهم رعبا

Watahsabuhum ayqathan wahum ruqoodun wanuqallibuhum thata alyameeni wathata alshshimali wakalbuhum basitun thiraAAayhi bialwaseedi lawi ittalaAAta AAalayhim lawallayta minhum firaran walamuli/ta minhum ruAAban

مي پنداشتي که بيدارند حال آنکه در خواب بودند و ما آنان را به دست راست و دست چپ مي گردانيديم ، و سگشان بر درگاه غار دو دست خويش درازکرده بود اگر به سر وقتشان مي رفتي گريزان باز مي گشتي و از آنها سخت مي ترسيدي

و آنان را بيدار مى انگاشتى، حال آنكه خفته بودند; و ايشان را [از چپ] به راست و [از راست] به چپ مى گردانديم و سگشان بازوانش را بر درگاه غار گشوده بود; چون به ايشان مى نگريستى، گريزان به آنان پشت مى كردى و از ايشان هراسان مى شدى.

اگر آنها را مى‏ديدى تصور ميكردى كه آنها بيدارند در حالى كه خواب بودند و ما آنها را بسمت راست و چپ حركت ميداديم (پهلو به پهلو مى‏نموديم) و سگ آنها دو دست خود را در آستانه غار دراز كرده بود. اگر به آنان نزديك ميشدى، هراسان از آنها روى برگردانده و فرار ميكردى.

و آنان را گمان می کنی که بیدارند، در حالی که خوابند، و آنان را به جانب راست و جانب چپ می گردانیم، و سگشان دو دستش را در آستانه غار گسترانیده است. اگر بر آنان آگاه می شدی از آنان روی برتافته و می گریختی و همه وجودت از [دیدن] آنان پر از ترس می شد.

پندارى ايشان را بيدار در حاليكه ايشان خفتگانند و مى‏گردانيم ايشان را بجانب راست و چپ (تا بدنشان رنجور نشود) و سگشان گسترانيده است دستهاى خود را بر آستانه غار و اگر اطلاع يابى بر (حال) ايشان بى‏شك روى گردانى از ايشان براى گريختن و پر مى‏شد دل تو از ايشان از نظر بيم

و مى‏پندارى كه ايشان بيدارند، در حالى كه خفته‏اند و آنها را به پهلوى راست و چپ مى‏گردانيم، و سگشان بر آستانه [غار] دو دست خود را دراز كرده [بود]. اگر بر حال آنان اطلاع مى‏يافتى، گريزان روى از آنها برمى‏تافتى و از [مشاهده‏] آنها آكنده از بيم مى‏شدى.

گمان مى‏كنى بيدارند در حالى كه خفته‏اند و به پهلوى راست و چپ مى‏گردانيمشان و سگ آنها بر دهانه غار دو دست گشاده داشت كه اگر سراغشان مى‏رفتى، برمى‏گشتى و مى‏گريختى و سخت مى‏ترسيدى.

و پنداشتى كه ايشان بيدارند، در حالى كه آنان خفته بودند. و ما آنها را به سوى راست و به سوى چپ مى‏گردانيديم. و سگشان دو دست خويش را بر درگاه [غار] گشاده بود، اگر بر ايشان اطلاع مى‏يافتى البته فراركنان روى از ايشان مى‏گرداندى و از ايشان آگنده از بيم مى‏شدى.

و مى‏پندارى ايشانرا بيداران و ايشان خفتگان بودند مى‏گردانيمشان بجانب راست و جانب چپ و سگشان گستراننده بود دو ساعدش را بآستانه آنغار اگر ديده ور ميشدى برايشان پشت ميگردانيدى از آنها بگريختن و هر آينه پر ميشدى از ايشان از ترس

و آنان را بيدار مى‏پنداشتى حال آنكه خفته بودند. و آنان را به جانب راست و به جانب چپ مى‏گردانديم و سگشان دو دستش را بر آستانه در گشاده بود. اگر بر آنان آگاهى مى‏يافتى قطعا گريزان از آنان روى مى‏گردانى و به راستى بسيار از آنان بيمناك مى‏شدى

و (اگر به آنها نگاه می‌کردی) می‌پنداشتی بیدارند؛ در حالی که در خواب فرو رفته بودند! و ما آنها را به سمت راست و چپ میگرداندیم (تا بدنشان سالم بماند). و سگ آنها دستهای خود را بر دهانه غار گشوده بود (و نگهبانی می‌کرد). اگر نگاهشان می‌کردی، از آنان می‌گریختی؛ و سر تا پای تو از ترس و وحشت پر می‌شد!

و آنان را پندارى كه بيدارند- زيرا چشمانشان باز است- و حال آنكه خفتگانند و ايشان را به جانب راست و جانب چپ مى‏گردانيم و سگشان دو بازوى خويش به آستانه غار گسترانيده است اگر بر ايشان ديده‏ور مى‏گشتى هر آينه به آنها پشت كرده مى‏گريختى و از بيمشان آكنده مى‏شدى.

و مى‏پندارى ايشان را بيداران و ايشان خفتگان بودند ميگردانيمشان بجانب راست و جانب چپ و سگشان گستراننده بود دو ساعدش را باستانه آنغار اگر ديده ور ميشدى بر ايشان پشت ميگردانيدى از آنها بگريختن و هر آينه پر ميشدى از ايشان از ترس

و پنداريشان بيداران حالى كه خفتگانند و مى گردانيمشان بسوى راست و چپ و سگ ايشان پهن كننده است بازوهاى خود را در آستانه اگر سرمى كشيدى بر آنان همانا پشت مى كردى از ايشان گريزان و هر آينه پرمى شدى از ايشان ترس را

و آنها را بیدار پنداری و حال آنکه در خوابند و ما (برای رفع خستگی) آنان را به پهلوی راست و چپ می‌گردانیدیم و سگ آنها دو دست بر در آن غار گسترده داشت، و اگر بر حال ایشان مطلع شدی از آنها گریختی و از هیبت و عظمت آنان بسیار هراسان گردیدی.

تو فكر مي كردي كه آنها بيدارند و حال آنكه درواقع خواب بودند. هنگامي كه آنها را به پهلوي راست و پهلوي چپ برمي گردانديم، سگشان در ميان آنها دست هايش را دراز کرده بود. اگر به آنها نگاه مي كردي، وحشت زده ازآنان مي گريختي.

And you think/suppose them (to be) awake/alert, and they are asleep/lying down, and We turn them/turn them around that of the right (side), and that of the left (side), and their dog (is) spreading/extending its two arms (paws) at the cave/doorstep/mountain , if you saw/looked on/over them you would have turned away from them escaping/fleeing/running away, and you would have been filled (by) terror/fright from them.

And you would have thought them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them on their right and on their left sides, and their dog stretching forth his two forelegs at the entrance (of the Cave or in the space near to the entrance of the Cave (as a guard at the gate)). Had you looked at them, you would certainly have turned back from them in flight, and would certainly have been filled with awe of them.

Thou wouldst have thought them awake, as they lay sleeping, while We turned them now to the right, now to the left,› and their dog ‹stretching its paws on the threshold. Hadst thou observed them surely thou wouldst have turned thy back on them in flight, and been filled with terror of them.

And thou wouldst have thought that they were awake, whereas they lay asleep. And We caused them to turn over repeatedly, now to the right, now to the left; and their dog [lay] on the threshold, its forepaws outstretched. Hadst thou come upon them [unprepared], thou wouldst surely have turned away from them in flight, and wouldst surely have been filled with awe of them.»

En gij zoudt gezegd hebben, dat zij waakten, terwijl zij sliepen en wij deden hen naar de rechter- en naar de linkerzijde omwenden. En hun hond strekte zijne voorpooten naar den ingang van de spelonk uit; maar indien gij plotseling waart gekomen, zoudt gij u zeker hebben afgewend en van hen gevloden zijn, en op hun gezicht zou de vrees u vervuld hebben.

And you would think they are awake while they are asleep. And We turn them on the right-side and on the left-side, and their dog has his legs outstretched in their midst. If you looked upon them you would have run away from them and you would have been filled with terror from them!

Avresti creduto che fossero svegli e invece dormivano. Li giravamo sul lato destro e su quello sinistro, mentre il loro cane era sulla soglia, le zampe distese. Se li avessi scorti saresti certamente fuggito volgendo le spalle e certo saresti stato preso dal terrore vedendoli.

And you would have thought them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them on their right and on their left sides, and their dog stretching forth his two forelegs at the entrance (of the Cave or in the space near to the entrance of the Cave (as a guard at the gate)). Had you looked at them, you would certainly have turned back from them in flight, and would certainly have been filled with awe of them.

Ты решил бы, что они бодрствуют, хотя они спали. Мы переворачивали их то на правый бок, то на левый. Их собака лежала перед входом, вытянув лапы. Взглянув на них, ты бросился бы бежать прочь и пришел бы в ужас.

Можно подумать, что они бодрствуют, но на самом деле они погрузились в сон, и по Нашему велению переворачиваются с одного бока на другой. А их собака лежала на пороге, вытянув лапы. Если бы ты [случайно] увидел их, то бросился бы бежать прочь, устрашенный.

And you might think them awake while they were asleep and We turned them about to the right and to the left, while their dog (lay) outstretching its paws at the entrance; if you looked at them you would certainly turn back from them in flight, and you would certainly be filled with awe because of them.

And thou wouldst have deemed them waking though they were asleep, and We caused them to turn over to the right and the left, and their dog stretching out his paws on the threshold. If thou hadst observed them closely thou hadst assuredly turned away from them in flight, and hadst been filled with awe of them.

Thou mightst have reckoned them waking though they were sleeping, as we turned them towards the right and towards the left; and their dog spreading out his fore-paws on the threshold. Hadst thou come suddenly upon them thou wouldst surely have turned and fled away from them, and wouldst surely have been filled by them with dread.

Sen onları uyanıktırlar sanırsın; oysaki onlar uykudadırlar. Onları sağ tarafa da sol tarafa da çeviririz. Köpekleri de iki kolunu girişe uzatıp yaymıştır. Onların durumunu görseydin kesinlikle onlardan yüz çevirip kaçırdın. Ve onlardan içinde mutlaka korku doldurulurdu.

You might have thought them awake, though they were sleeping. We turned them about to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched its paws at the entrance. Had you seen them you would surely have become filled with terror and turned your back on them in flight.

You would have deemed that they were awake, even when they slept. (They remained alert round the clock). We caused them to frequently change their positions right and left. They had a faithful dog to guard the entrance, with its four paws outstretched, ready to hunt for them. The whole environment was awe-inspiring. Had you come upon them suddenly, you would have turned away from them in flight in awe.

You would think that they were awake, when they were in fact asleep. We turned them to the right side and the left side, while their dog stretched his arms in their midst. Had you looked at them, you would have fled from them, stricken with terror.

And thou wouldst have deemed them awake, though they were sleeping: and we turned them to the right and to the left. And in the entry lay their dog with paws outstretched. Hadst thou come suddenly upon them, thou wouldst surely have turned thy back on them in flight, and have been filled with fear at them.

And thou wouldst have judged them to have been awake, while they were sleeping; and We caused them to turn themselves to the right hand, and to the left. And their dog stretched forth his fore-legs in the mouth of the cave: If thou hadst come suddenly upon them, verily thou wouldest have turned thy back and fled from them, and thou wouldest have been filled with fear at the sight of them.

Thou mightest deem them awake, whilst they are asleep; and WE shall cause them to turn over to the right and to the left; their dog stretching out its forelegs on the threshold. If thou hadst had a look at them, thou wouldst surely be filled with awe of them.

Du könntest sie für wach halten, indes sie schlafen; und Wir werden sie auf die rechte Seite und auf die linke sich umdrehen lassen, während ihr Hund seine Vorderpfoten auf der Schwelle ausstreckt. Hättest du sie so erblickt, du würdest dich gewiß vor ihnen zur Flucht gewandt haben und wärest mit Grausen vor ihnen erfüllt gewesen.

И ты бы мог подумать, что они не спят, ■ Хотя они на самом деле спали, ■ И Мы направо и налево поворачивали их, ■ А их собака обе лапы протянула на порог. ■ И если б (в этом виде) ты их усмотрел, ■ Ты бы от них пустился в бег ■ И был бы в страх от них повергнут.

Әгәр тау тишегендә йоклаучыларны күрсәң, күзләре ачык булу сәбәпле, йокламыйлар, дип уйлар идең вәхалән ки, алар йоклыйлардыр вә Без аларны йоклаган вакытларында, уңга һәм сулга өйләндерәбез тәмнәре бозылмасын өчен, вә аларның этләре дә ишек бусагасында ике аягын түшәп йоклыйлар. Әгәр син аларга карасаң, әлбәттә, алардан куркып качар идең вә алардан курку белән күкрәгең тулыр иде.

اور تم ان کو خیال کرو کہ جاگ رہے ہیں حالانکہ وہ سوتے ہیں۔ اور ہم ان کو دائیں اور بائیں کروٹ بدلاتے تھے۔ اور ان کا کتا چوکھٹ پر دونوں ہاتھ پھیلائے ہوئے تھا۔ اگر تم ان کو جھانک کر دیکھتے تو پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ جاتے اور ان سے دہشت میں آجاتے

اور (اے سننے والے!) تو انہیں (دیکھے تو) بیدار خیال کرے گا حالانکہ وہ سوئے ہوئے ہیں اور ہم (وقفوں کے ساتھ) انہیں دائیں جانب اور بائیں جانب کروٹیں بدلاتے رہتے ہیں، اور ان کا کتا (ان کی) چوکھٹ پر اپنے دونوں بازو پھیلائے (بیٹھا) ہے، اگر تو انہیں جھانک کر دیکھ لیتا تو ان سے پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگ جاتا اور تیرے دل میں ان کی دہشت بھر جاتی،
