وَ يَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ ما لَبِثُوا غَيْرَ ساعَةٍ كَذلِكَ كانُوا يُؤْفَكُونَ

و يوم تقوم السّاعة يقسم المجرمون ما لبثوا غير ساعة كذلك كانوا يؤفكون

Wayawma taqoomu alssaAAatu yuqsimu almujrimoona ma labithoo ghayra saAAatin kathalika kanoo yu/fakoona

روزي که قيامت برپا شود مجرمان سوگند خورند که جز ساعتي در گور نيارميده اند آري اينچنين دروغ مي گفتند

و روزى كه قيامت برپا شود، گناهكاران سوگند خورند كه [در دنيا، يا گور] جز ساعتى درنگ نكرده اند، بدينسان بيراهه مى رفتند.

و روزى كه قيامت برپا شود، مجرمين سوگند ياد ميكنند كه جز ساعتى در دنيا نبودند و بدينسان (از راه حق و حقيقت) منحرف و دگرگون ميشوند.

و روزی که قیامت برپا می شود، می رمان سوگند می خورند که [فاصله مرگ تا قیامت را] جز ساعتی درنگ نکرده اند، این گونه [که در قیامت دروغ می گویند و منحرف از حقیقت هستند در دنیا نیز همواره از حق به باطل] منحرف می شدند.

و روزى كه بپا شود رستاخيز سوگند ياد كنند كافران كه (در گور) نماندند جز ساعتى مانند اين برگشتن از صدق بودند (در دنيا) برگردانيده مى‏شدند بباطل

و روزى كه رستاخيز بر پا شود، مجرمان سوگند ياد مى‏كنند كه جز ساعتى [بيش‏] درنگ نكرده‏اند؛ [در دنيا هم‏] اين گونه به دروغ كشانيده مى‏شدند.

روزى كه قيامت برپا شود گنهكاران سوگند ياد مى‏كنند كه جز ساعتى درنگ نداشته‏اند. آرى اين چنين از درك حقيقت محروم مى‏شوند.

و آن روز كه رستاخيز بر پاى شود، مجرمان سوگند خورند كه [در گورهاى خود] جز ساعتى درنگ نكردند، [از پيش‏] نيز دروغ مى‏گفتند.

و روزى كه بر پا شود قيامت سوگند ميخورند گناهكاران كه درنگ نكردند جز يك ساعت همچنين بودند كه برگردانيده مى‏شدند

و روزى كه قيامت بر پا شود، گناهكاران سوگند ياد مى‏كنند كه [در دنيا يا گور] جز يك لحظه درنگ نكرده‏اند. بدينسان [از راه حق‏] بر گردانده مى‏شوند

و روزی که قیامت برپا شود، مجرمان سوگند یاد می‌کنند که جز ساعتی (در عالم برزخ) درنگ نکردند! اینچنین از درک حقیقت بازگردانده می‌شوند.

و روزى كه رستاخيز برپا شود بدكاران سوگند مى‏خورند كه جز ساعتى درنگ نكردند- در دنيا يا در گور- اينچنين [از راستى به ناراستى‏] گردانيده مى‏شوند- كار و عادت ايشان در اين جهان و آن جهان نادرستى و ناراستى است-.

و روزى كه بر پا شود قيامت سوگند ميخورند گناهكاران كه درنگ نكردند جز يك ساعت همچنين بودند كه برگردانيده ميشدند

و روزى كه بپا شود ساعت سوگند ياد كنند و همراهيشان كن ماندند جز ساعتى بدينسان بودند به دروغ رانده مى شدند

و روزی که ساعت قیامت بر پا شود بدکاران قسم یاد کنند که (در دنیا و قبر و برزخ) ساعتی بیش درنگ نکردند. همین گونه (عادتشان از دیرین بود که) از راستی و حقیقت به ناراستی و دروغ می‌پرداختند.

در آن روز هنگامي كه آن ساعت فرا رسد، مجرمان قسم خواهند خورد كه (در اين دنيا) فقط يك ساعت بودند. آنها تا اين حد اشتباه مي ‌كردند.

And a day/time the Hour/Resurrection starts the criminals/sinners swear/make oath (that) they did stay/remain except an hour, as/like that, they were being lied to/turned away.

And on the Day that the Hour will be established, the Mujrimoon (criminals, disbelievers, polytheists, sinners, etc.) will swear that they stayed not but an hour, thus were they ever deluded (away from the truth (i.e they used to tell lies and take false oaths, and turn away from the truth) in this life of the world)).

Upon the day when the Hour is come, the sinners shall swear they have not tarried above an hour; so they were perverted.

[He it is who will cause you to die, and in time will resurrect you.] [This interpolation – the meaning of which is elliptically implied here – shows the connection of the present passage with the preceding one, as well as with verses 11-16 and 27.] And when the Last Hour dawns, those who had been lost in sin will swear that they had not tarried [on earth] longer than an hour: thus were they wont to delude themselves [all their lives]! [The illusory character of man’s earthbound concept of «time» is brought out in the Quran in several places. In the above context stress is laid, firstly, on the relativity of this concept – i.e., on the infinitesimal shortness of our life on earth as compared with the timeless duration of life in the hereafter (cf., for instance, 10:45 or 17:52) – and, secondly, on the resurrected sinners› self-deluding excuse that their life on earth had been too short to allow them to realize their errors and mend their ways. It is to this second aspect of the problem that the Quran alludes in the words, «thus were they wont to delude themselves» (lit., «to be turned away», i.e., from the truth). Op den dag waarop het laatste uur zal komen, zullen de zondaren willen zweren. Dat zij niet langer dan een uur zijn gebleven. Op dezelfde wijze spraken zij gedurende hunnen leeftijd leugens uit.

And at the time when the hour shall come, the guilty shall swear (that) they did not tarry but an hour; thus are they ever turned away.

And on the day when the Hour riseth the guilty will vow that they did tarry but an hour – thus were they ever deceived.

And on the day when the Hour shall rise, the sinners shall swear that they have not tarried save an hour; thus were they wont to lie!

Saat gelip kıyamet koptuğu gün, günahkârlar dünyada bir saatten başka kalmadıklarına yemin ederler. Onlar işte böyle çevriliyorlardı.

Upon the Day when the Hour has come, the harmdoers will swear that they had stayed no more than an hour. As such they are deceived.

(Since your life is short, your time is precious.) On the Day when the Hour rises, the guilty will swear that they lived in this world no more than an hour, (and that they didn’t have time to reform). In fact they were wandering aimlessly through life.

On the day when the Hour comes to pass, the guilty will swear that they lasted (in this world) only one hour. That is how wrong they were.

And on the day whereon the Hour shall arrive, the wicked will swear. That not above an hour have they waited: Even so did they utter lies on earth:

On the day whereon the last hour shall come, the wicked will swear that they have not tarried above an hour: In like manner did they utter lies in their life-time.

And on the day when the appointed Hour shall arrive, the guilty will swear that they tarried not save a brief period – thus are they turned away from the right path.

Und an dem Tage, da die «Stunde» herankommt, werden die Missetäter schwören, daß sie nicht länger als eine Stunde gesäumt – so haben sie sich immer getäuscht.

В тот День, ■ Когда наступит Час, ■ Готовы будут грешники поклясться, ■ Что пробыли они не больше часа ■ (В своих могилах после смерти), – ■ Так (сильно были на земле) искушены они.

Кыямәт торгызылган көндә имансызлар кабердә бер сәгатьтән артык тормадык, дип ант итәрләр, алар кабердә күпме торулары хакында ялган сөйләгәннәре кебек, дөньяда вакытларында, терелү юк, дип ялганлыйлар иде.

اور جس روز قیامت برپا ہوگی گنہگار قسمیں کھائیں گے کہ وہ (دنیا میں) ایک گھڑی سے زیادہ نہیں رہے تھے۔ اسی طرح وہ (رستے سے) اُلٹے جاتے تھے

اور جس دن قیامت برپا ہوگی مُجرم لوگ قَسمیں کھائیں گے کہ وہ (دنیا میں) ایک گھڑی کے سوا ٹھہرے ہی نہیں تھے، اسی طرح وہ (دنیا میں بھی حق سے) پھرے رہتے تھے،
