وَ لَئِنْ أَخَّرْنا عَنْهُمُ الْعَذابَ إِلى أُمَّةٍ مَعْدُودَةٍ لَيَقُولُنَّ ما يَحْبِسُهُ أَلا يَوْمَ يَأْتِيهِمْ لَيْسَ مَصْرُوفاً عَنْهُمْ وَ حاقَ بِهِمْ ما كانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِؤُنَ

و لئن أخّرنا عنهم العذاب إلى أمّة معدودة ليقولنّ ما يحبسه ألا يوم يأتيهم ليس مصروفا عنهم و حاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزؤن

Wala-in akhkharna AAanhumu alAAathaba ila ommatin maAAdoodatin layaqoolunna ma yahbisuhu ala yawma ya/teehim laysa masroofan AAanhum wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona

و اگر چند گاهي عذابشان را به تاخير بيفکنيم مي پرسند : چه چيز مانع آن شده است ؟ آگاه باشيد چون عذابشان فرا رسد ، آن را باز نگردانند ، و آنچه مسخره اش مي کردند آنان را در بر خواهد گرفت

و اگر عذاب را به مدت اندكشمارى از آنان به تأخير اندازيم، خواهند گفت چه چيزى آن را باز داشت؟ بدانيد روزى كه بر آنان فرود آيد، از آنان بازداشته نمى گردد، و آنچه به ريشخندش مى گيرند فرو مى گيردشان.

و اگر ما عذاب را از آنان تا مدتى معين بتأخير اندازيم، آن گاه خواهند گفت: چه چيز مانع شد كه عذاب بتأخير افتد؟ آگاه باشند وقتى آن روز ناگهان فرا رسد، رهايى از آن هرگز ميسر نخواهد شد و آنچه را كه مسخره ميكردند، سخت گرفتارشان خواهد ساخت.

و اگر عذاب را از آنان تا مدتی اندک به تأخیر اندازیم، مسلماً [از روی استهزا] خواهند گفت: چه عاملی آن را [از آمدن] باز می دارد؟! آگاه باشید! روزی که عذاب به آنان رسد، از آنان بازگشتنی و بازداشتنی نیست و عذابی را که همواره مسخره می کردند، آنان را فراخواهد گرفت.

و بعزتم سوگند اگر بتاخير افكنيم از كافران عذاب را تا زمانى شمرده شده قطعا مى‏گويند چه چيز بازمى‏دارش بدانيد روزى كه عذاب بيايد بديشان نيست برگشتى از ايشان و فرود آيد بديشان عذابى كه بآن استهزاء مى‏كردند

و اگر عذاب را تا چندگاهى از آنان به تأخير افكنيم، حتماً خواهند گفت: «چه چيز آن را باز مى‏دارد؟» آگاه باش، روزى كه [عذاب‏] به آنان برسد از ايشان بازگشتنى نيست، و آنچه را كه مسخره مى‏كردند آنان را فرو خواهد گرفت.

اگر عذابشان را تا مدت محدودى به تأخير اندازيم، مى‏گويند: «چه چيز مانع آن شده است.» آگاه باش! در روزى كه به سراغشان بيايد از آنان برگردانده نخواهد شد و آنچه را به مسخره مى‏گرفتند، گريبانشان را خواهد گرفت.

و اگر عذاب را از ايشان تا مدتى معدود باز پس داريم، البته خواهند گفت: چه چيزى آن را باز مى‏دارد؟ آگاه باشيد! روزى كه [عذاب‏] بر ايشان بيايد، از ايشان باز گردانده نمى‏شود و آنچه استهزايش مى‏كردند، ايشان را فرا گيرد.

و هر آينه اگر باز پس اندازيم از ايشان عذاب را تا مدتى شمرده شده هر آينه ميگويند چه بازداشت آنرا آگاه باشيد روز كه بيايد ايشانرا نخواهد شد گردانيده از ايشان و فرود آمد بايشان آنچه بودند كه با آن استهزاء ميكردند

و اگر تا مدتى معدود عذاب را از آنان باز داريم، مى‏گويند: چه چيز آن را باز مى‏دارد؟ بدانيد روزى كه [عذاب‏] به آنان برسد، از آنان باز داشته نمى‏شود و آنچه ريشخندش مى‏كردند آنان را فرو مى‏گيرد

و اگر مجازات را تا زمان محدودی از آنها به تأخیر اندازیم، (از روی استهزا می‌گویند: «چه چیز مانع آن شده است؟!» آگاه باشید، آن روز که (عذاب) به سراغشان آید، از آنها بازگردانده نخواهد شد؛ (و هیچ قدرتی مانع آن نخواهد بود؛) و آنچه را مسخره می‌کردند، دامانشان را می‌گیرد!

و اگر عذاب را از آنان تا مدّتى چند به تأخير اندازيم، [به ريشخند] خواهند گفت: چه چيز آن را باز مى‏دارد؟ آگاه باشيد، روزى كه آنان را فرارسد از آنها باز گردانده نشود و آنچه بدان ريشخند مى‏كردند آنان را فراگيرد.

و هر آينه اگر باز پس اندازيم از ايشان عذاب را تا مدتى شمرده شده هر آينه ميگويند چه باز داشت آنرا آگاه باشيد روزى كه بيايد ايشان را نخواهد شد گردانيده از ايشان و فرود آمد بايشان آنچه بودند كه بآن استهزاء ميكردند

و اگر دور كنيم از ايشان عذاب را تا امّتى شمرده گويند چه بازدارد آن را همانا روزى كه مى آيد ايشان را نيست برگرداننده از ايشان و فرود آمد بر ايشان آنچه بودند بدان استهزاءكنان

و اگر ما عذاب را از آن منکران معاد تا وقت معین (هنگام مرگ) به تعویق اندازیم آنها گویند: چه موجب تأخیر عذاب شده؟آگه باشند که چون هنگام عذاب برسد هرگز از آنان بازگردانده نشود و آنچه بدان تمسخر می‌کردند سخت آنان را فرا گیرد.

و اگر مجازاتي را که سزاوار آن شده اند، به تأخير اندازيم- زيرا آن را براي جامعه اي خاص در نظر گرفته ايم- مي گويند: پس چه چيز مانع اوست؟ درواقع، زماني که بر شما آيد، هيچ چيز نمي تواند آن را متوقف سازد و تمسخر آنها به خودشان بازخواهد گشت.

And if We delayed the punishment from them to a counted/numbered generation they will say (E) what prevents/withholds it ? Is it not (on that) day (when it) comes to them (it is) not diverted/sent away from them? And surrounded/encircled with them what they were with it mocking/making fun of.

And if We delay the torment for them till a determined term, they are sure to say, «What keeps it back?» Verily, on the day it reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by (fall in) that at which they used to mock!

And if We postpone the chastisement from them till a reckoned moment they will say ‹What is detaining it?› Surely, the day it shall come to them, it shall not be turned aside from them, and they shall be encompassed by that they mocked at.

And thus it is: if We defer their suffering until a time-limit set [by Us],’3 they are sure to say, «What is preventing it [from coming now]?» Oh, verily, on the Day when it befalls them there will be nothing to avert it from them; and they shall be overwhelmed by the very thing which they were wont to deride.»

En waarlijk, indien wij hunne straf tot een bepaalden tijd verschuiven, zullen zij zeggen: Wat belet, dat dit reeds nu geschiede? Zal zij dan niet over hen komen op een dag, waarop niemand aanwezig zal zijn om die van hen af te wenden, en zal datgene wat zij hebben bespot, hen niet omstrikken?

And if We delay for them the retribution to a near period, they will Say: "What has kept it?" Alas, on the day it comes to them, nothing will turn it away from them, and what they used to mock will catch-up with them.

E se allontaniamo il castigo da loro fino a un tempo prestabilito, certamente diranno: «Cosa lo trattiene?». Il giorno in cui arriverà, non potranno allontanarlo da loro e saranno circondati da quello che schernivano.

And if We delay the torment for them till a determined term, they are sure to say, "What keeps it back?" Verily, on the day it reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them, and they will be surrounded by (fall in) that at which they used to mock!

Если Мы отложим наказание их до определенного срока, то они скажут: «Что же удерживает его?» Воистину, в тот день, когда оно постигнет их, ничто не отвратит его, и окружит (или поразит) их то, над чем они насмехались.

Если же Мы отложим наказание их на некоторое время, они непременно скажут: «Что же Его удерживает [от наказания] ?» Увы! В тот день, когда их постигнет наказание, им не отвратить его, и поразит их то, над чем они глумились.

And if We hold back from them the punishment until a stated period of time, they will certainly say: What prevents it? Now surely on the day when it will come to them, it shall not be averted from them and that which they scoffed at shall beset them.

And if We delay for them the doom until a reckoned time, they will surely say: What withholdeth it? Verily on the day when it cometh unto them, it cannot be averted from them, and that which they derided will surround them.

and if we keep back from them the torment to a stated generation, they will surely say, ‹What hinders it?› – Aye! on the day it comes to them there is no turning it away from them, but that shall close in on them at which they mocked.

Ve eğer onlardan azabı, belirlenmiş bir süreye kadar ertelesek, mutlaka şöyle diyeceklerdir: «Onu erteleyen de ne?» Gözünüzü açın, azap onlara geldiği gün, kendilerinden geri çevrilecek değildir. Ve alay edip durdukları şey, kendilerini sarmış olacaktır.

And if We delay the punishment till an appointed time, they will ask: ‹What has detained it? ‹ Indeed, the Day will come to them, it will not be turned away from them, and that they mocked at will encompass them.

And when We delay for them the retribution until after the Period of Respite, they will surely say, «What is keeping back the doom?» Ah! On the day it actually reaches them, nothing will turn it away from them. And their mockery will completely surround them.

And if we delay the retribution they have incurred – for we reserve it for a specific community – they say, «What is keeping Him?» In fact, once it comes to them, nothing can stop it, and their mocking will come back to haunt them.

And if we defer their chastisement to some definite time, they will exclaim, «What keepeth it back?» What! will it not come upon them on a day when there shall be none to avert it from them? And that at which they scoffed shall enclose them in on every side.

And verily if We defer their punishment unto a determined season, they will say, what hindreth it from falling on us? Will it not come upon them on a day, wherein there shall be none to avert it from them; and that which they scoffed at shall incompass them?

And if WE put off their punishment until a reckoned time, they would certainly say, `What withholds it ?› Now, surely, on the day it shall come unto them, it shall not be averted from them, and that which they used to mock at shall encompass them.

Wenn Wir aber ihre Bestrafung bis zu einer berechneten Zeit aufschöben, würden sie sicherlich sagen: «Was hält sie zurück?» Nun wahrlich, an dem Tage, an dem sie zu ihnen kommen wird, da wird keiner (sie) von ihnen abwenden, und das, was sie zu verspotten pflegten. wird sie rings umschließen

И если Мы отсрочим наказание для них ■ На срок определенный, ■ То, несомненно, они скажут: ■ «Что ж все-таки удерживает это?» ■ Но в День, когда оно придет к ним, ■ Никто не сможет отстранить их от него, – ■ Постигнет их со всех сторон, ■ Над чем они (в сей жизни) насмехались!

Әгәр Без алардан ґәзабны кичектерсәк, мәсхәрә кылып, киләсе ґәзаб килсен инде, нәрсә тыя ул ґәзабны килүдән, диләр. Әгаһ булсыннар, әгәр килсә, ул ґәзаб алардан кире китмәс, үзләре мәсхәрә кылган ґәзаб алар өстенә, әлбәттә, киләчәк.

اور اگر ایک مدت معین تک ہم ان سے عذاب روک دیں تو کہیں گے کہ کون سی چیز عذاب روکے ہوئے ہے۔ دیکھو جس روز وہ ان پر واقع ہوگا (پھر) ٹلنے کا نہیں اور جس چیز کے ساتھ یہ استہزاء کیا کرتے ہیں وہ ان کو گھیر لے گی

اور اگر ہم ان سے چند مقررہ دنوں تک عذاب کو مؤخر کردیں تو وہ یقینًا کہیں گے کہ اسے کس چیز نے روک رکھا ہے، خبردار! جس دن وہ (عذاب) ان پر آئے گا (تو) ان سے پھیرا نہ جائے گا اور وہ (عذاب) انہیں گھیر لے گا جس کا وہ مذاق اڑایا کرتے تھے،
