فِي بِضْعِ سِنِينَ لِلَّهِ الأَْمْرُ مِنْ قَبْلُ وَ مِنْ بَعْدُ وَ يَوْمَئِذٍ يَفْرَحُ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ

في بضع سنين للّه الأمر من قبل و من بعد و يومئذ يفرح المؤمنون

Fee bidAAi sineena lillahi al-amru min qablu wamin baAAdu wayawma-ithin yafrahu almu/minoona

در مدت چند سال فرمان ، فرمان خداست ، چه پيش از پيروزي و چه بعد از آن و در آن روز مؤمنان شادمان مي شوند ،

در عرض چند سال; چرا كه امر در گذشته و آينده با خداوند است، و در چنين روزى مؤمنان از يارى خداوند شادمان شوند.

اين پيروزى در چند سال آينده رخ خواهد داد شكست قبلى و پيروزى بعدى آنها بنا به امر خداست و مؤمنين در آن روز خوشحال مى‏شوند.

[البته] در ظرف چند سال. عاقبت و نتیجه کار پیش [از مغلوب شدن رومیان] و پس [از پیروزی رومیان] فقط در سیطره اراده و فرمان خداست، و آن روز [که رومیان پیروز شوند] مؤمنان شادمان و خوشحال خواهند شد،

در چند سال تنها از آن خداست فرمان پيش از غلبه روميان بر پارسيان و از پس مغلوب شدن ايشان و آنروز شاد شوند مؤمنان (كه روميان پيروز شوند)

[فرجام‏] كار در گذشته و آينده از آن خداست، و در آن روز است كه مؤمنان از يارى خدا شاد مى‏گردند.

قبل و بعد از پيروزى، فرمان خدا راست و در آن روز مؤمنان به يارى خدا شادمان خواهند شد،

در [طول‏] چند سال. فرمان خداى راست [در غلبه پارس‏] از پيش [و در غلبه روميان‏] از پس و [در آن‏] روز مؤمنان شاد مى‏شوند.

در اندك سالى خدا راست امر از پيش و از پس و چنين روزى شاد گردند گروندگان

در عرض چند سال. پيش از اين و پس از اين، حكم از آن خداست و آن روز مؤمنان به يارى خدا شادمان شوند

در چند سال همه کارها از آن خداست؛ چه قبل و چه بعد (از این شکست و پیروزی)؛ و در آن روز، مؤمنان (بخاطر پیروزی دیگری) خوشحال خواهند شد…

در چند سال- هفت سال- [آينده‏]. كار و فرمان، از پيش و از پس [اين شكست و پيروزى‏]، خداى راست و در آن روز مؤمنان شادمان شوند،

در اندك سالى خدا راست امر از پيش و از پس و چنين روزى شاد گردند گروندگان

در چند سال براى خدا است كار از پيش و از پس و در آن روز خرسند شوند مؤمنان

(این غلبه رومیان) در اند سالی خواهد شد (و بدانید که این حادثه و) کلیه امور عالم از قبل از این و بعد از این همه به دست خداست، و آن روز (که رومیان فاتح شوند چون بعد از آن خدا وعده یاری به اهل اسلام داده) مؤمنان شاد می‌شوند.

در چندين سال. چنين است تصميم خدا، هم در اولين پيش‌بيني و هم در دومين. در آن روز، مؤمنان شادمان شوند.

In (a) few years (between 3-9), to God (is) the matter/order from before and from after, and (on) that day the believers rejoice/delight .

Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians),

in a few years. To God belongs the Command before and after, and on that day the believers shall rejoice

within a few years: [for] with God rests all power of decision, first and last. [Lit., «before and after». The defeats and victories spoken of above relate to the last phases of the centuries-long struggle between the Byzantine and Persian Empires. During the early years of the seventh century the Persians conquered parts of Syria and Anatolia, «the lands close-by», i.e., near the heartland of the Byzantine umpire; in 613 they took Damascus and it 614, Jerusalem; Egypt fell to them in 615-16, and at the same time they laid siege to Constantinople itself. At the time of the revelation of this surah – about the seventh year before the hijrah, corresponding to 615 or 616 of the Christian era – the total destruction of the Byzantine Empire seemed imminent. The few Muslims around the Prophet were despondent on hearing the news of the utter discomfiture of the Byzantines, who were Christians and, as such, believed in the One God. The pagan Quraysh, on the other hand, sympathized with the Persians who, they thought, would vindicate their own opposition to the One-God idea. When Muhammad enunciated the above Quran-verses predicting a Byzantine victory «within a few years», this prophecy was received with derision by the Quraysh. Now the term bid (commonly rendered as «a few») denotes any number between three and ten; and, as it happened, in 622 – i.e., six or seven years after the Quranic prediction – the tide turned in favour of the Byzantines. In that year, Emperor Heraclius succeeded in defeating the Persians at Issus, south of the Taurus Mountains, and subsequently drove them out of Asia Minor. By 624, he carried the war into Persian territory and thus put the enemy on the defensive: and in the beginning of December, 626, the Persian armies were completely routed by the Byzantines.] And on that day will the believers [too, have cause to] rejoice

Binnen eenige jaren overwinnen. Aan God behoort de beschikking hierover, zoowel voor hetgeen voorbij is, als voor hetgeen komen zal. Op dien dag zullen de geloovigen zich verblijden

In a few more years. The decision before and after is for God, and on that day the believers will rejoice.

tra meno di dieci anni – appartiene ad Allah il destino del passato e del futuro – e in quel giorno i credenti si rallegreranno

Within three to nine years. The decision of the matter, before and after (these events) is only with Allah, (before the defeat of Romans by the Persians, and after, i.e. the defeat of the Persians by the Romans). And on that Day, the believers (i.e. Muslims) will rejoice (at the victory given by Allah to the Romans against the Persians),

через несколько (от трех до девяти) лет. Аллах принимал решения до этого и будет принимать их после этого. В тот день верующие возрадуются

через несколько лет. Всем повелевает Аллах до [победы одних] и после [грядущей победы других]. И в тот день возликуют верующие

Within a few years. Allah’s is the command before and after; and on that day the believers shall rejoice,

Within ten years – Allah’s is the command in the former case and in the latter – and in that day believers will rejoice

in a few years; to God belongs the order before and after; and on that day the believers shall rejoice

Birkaç yıl içinde. İş/oluş/hüküm, önünde de sonunda da Allah’ındır. Onların galibiyet gününde müminler ferahlayacaklar,

To Allah belongs the Command before and after, and on that Day the believers will rejoice

Within ten years! For with Allah is the Command in the Past and in the Future. And on that day the believers too will have cause to rejoice.

Within several years. Such is GOD’s decision, both in the first prophecy, and the second. On that day, the believers shall rejoice.

In a few years. First and last is the affair with God. And on that day shall the faithful rejoice

within a few years. Unto God belongeth the disposal of this matter, both for what is past, and for what is to come: And on that day shall the believers rejoice

In a few years – ALLAH’s is the dominion before and after that – and on that day the believers will rejoice

In wenigen Jahren – Allahs ist die Herrschaft vorher und nachher -, und an jenem Tage werden die Gläubigen frohlocken

Спустя недолгий срок. ■ Решение всего – во власти Бога, ■ (Как было) прежде, и (сейчас, и будет) после. ■ В тот день возрадуются верные

Өч ел белән тугыз ел арасында. Башта Фарсыйларның Румнарны җиңүе, соңра Румнарның Фарсыйларны җиңүе, Аллаһуның теләге вә ярдәме беләндер, вә Румнар Фарсыйларны җиңгән көндә мөэминнәр шатланырлар, чөнки Аллаһуның вәгъдәсе вә пәйгамбәрнең сүзе дөресләнгән буладыр, һәм Мәккә мөшрикләренең: «Румнар җиңәчәк дигән сүзегез ялган», – дигән сүзләре юкка чыгачактыр.

چند ہی سال میں پہلے بھی اور پیچھے بھی خدا ہی کا حکم ہے اور اُس روز مومن خوش ہوجائیں گے

چند ہی سال میں (یعنی دس سال سے کم عرصہ میں)، اَمر تو اﷲ ہی کا ہے پہلے (غلبۂ فارس میں) بھی اور بعد (کے غلبۂ روم میں) بھی، اور اس وقت اہلِ ایمان خوش ہوں گے،
