حَتَّى إِذا جاءَنا قالَ يا لَيْتَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَكَ بُعْدَ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ فَبِئْسَ الْقَرِينُ

حتّى إذا جاءنا قال يا ليت بيني و بينك بعد المشرقين فبئس القرين

Hatta itha jaana qala ya layta baynee wabaynaka buAAda almashriqayni fabi/sa alqareenu

تا آنگاه که نزد ما آيد ، مي گويد : اي کاش دوري من و تو دوري مشرق و، مغرب بود و تو چه همراه بدي بودي

تا چون به نزد ما آيد [به آن شيطان] گويد كاش بين من و تو فاصله مشرق و مغرب بود، و بد همنشينى است.

تا وقتى كه بسوى ما باز آيد، آن گاه خواهد گفت: اى كاش ميان من و تو فاصله‏اى بدورى مشرق و مغرب بود كه تو براى من همنشين بسيار بدى بودى.

تا زمانی که [در قیامت] نزد ما آیند [به شیطانش] گوید: ای کاش میان من و تو فاصله و دوری مشرق و مغرب بود، پس بد همنشینی بودی!

تا آنگه كه آن برگشته از ياد خدا بيايد نزد ما گويد اى كاش بودى ميان من و تو دورى ميان خاور و باختر پس بد همنشينى تو

تا آنگاه كه او [با دمسازش‏] به حضور ما آيد، [خطاب به شيطان‏] گويد: «اى كاش ميان من و تو، فاصله خاور و باختر بود، كه چه بد دمسازى هستى!»

به هنگام حضور در نزد ما مى‏گويد: «اى كاش ميان من و تو از شرق تا غرب فاصله بود و تو چه همراه بدى بودى.»

تا چون پيش ما آيد [خطاب به آن شيطان‏] گويد: اى كاش ميان من و ميان تو دورى مشرق و مغرب مى‏بود، كه [تو مرا] همنشين بدى.

تا چون آيد ما را گويد ايكاش بودى ميان من و ميان تو دورى مشرقين پس بد رفيقى بودى

تا هنگامى كه [انسان‏] به نزد ما آيد، [به شيطان‏] گويد: اى كاش بين من و تو به مسافت شرق و غرب فاصله بود. چه بدهمنشينى بودى

تا زمانی که (در قیامت) نزد ما حاضر شود می‌گوید: ای کاش میان من و تو فاصله مشرق و مغرب بود؛ چه بد همنشینی بودی!

تا آنگاه كه [يكى از آنان‏] نزد ما آيد- در روز رستاخيز-، [به شيطان همدمش‏] گويد: اى كاش ميان من و تو چندان دورى بود كه ميان خاور و باختر، و بد همنشينى هستى.

تا چون آيد ما را گويد ايكاش بودى ميان من و ميان تو دورى مشرقين پس بد رفيقى بودى

تا گاهى كه آيد ما را گويد كاش ميان من و تو دورى خاور و باختر بودى كه چه زشت همنشينى است

(و چنین کس سرگرم دنیا شود) تا وقتی که به سوی ما باز آید آن گاه با نهایت حسرت گوید: ای کاش میان من و تو (ای شیطان) فاصله‌ای به دوری مشرق و مغرب بود که تو بسیار همنشین و یار بد اندیشی بر من بودی.

هنگامي که او نزد ما بيايد، خواهد گفت: آه، کاش ميان من و تو به اندازه دو مشرق فاصله بود. چه همزاد بيچاره کننده اي!

Until if he came to Us, he said: «Oh if only between me and between you (are) the two sun rises’/easts› far distances, so how bad (is) the companion ?»

Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his Qareen (Satan / devil companion)) «Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)» a worst (type of) companion (indeed)!

till, when he comes to Us, he says, ‹Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!› An evil comrade!

But in the end, [Lit., «until».] when he [who has thus sinned] appears before us [on Judgment Day], he will say [to his other self], «Would that between me and thee there had been the distance of east and west!» [Thus do most of the commentators interpret the above phrase which, literally, reads «the two easts» (al-mashriqayn). This interpretation is based on the idiomatic usage, not infrequent in classical Arabic, of referring to two opposites – or two conceptually connected entities – by giving them the designation of one of them in the dual form: e.g., «the two moons», denoting «sun and moon ; «the two Basrahs», i.e., Kufah and Basrah; and so forth.] – for, evil indeed [has proved] that other self!

Totdat, wanneer de mensch op den jongsten dag voor ons zal verschijnen, hij tot den duivel zal zeggen: Had God gegeven, dat er tusschen ons een afstand ware geweest, als van het Oosten tot het Westen! O welk een vreeselijke makker zijt gij!

Until he comes to Us, he will say, "Oh, I wish that between you and me was the distance of the two easts. What a miserable companion!"

Quando poi [un tal uomo] verrà a Noi, dirà: «Ahimé, quanto vorrei che tra te e me ci fosse la distanza che separa i due Orienti!». Che detestabile compagno!

Till, when (such a one) comes to Us, he says (to his Qareen (Satan / devil companion)) "Would that between me and you were the distance of the two easts (or the east and west)" a worst (type of) companion (indeed)!

Когда же он (неверующий) явится к Нам, он скажет дьяволу: «Лучше бы между мной и тобой было расстояние от запада до востока! Какой же ты плохой товарищ!»

Когда же они предстанут перед Нами, то [заблудший] скажет [шайтану]: «О, если бы между мной и тобой было расстояние от запада до востока! Плохой ты друг!»

Until when he comes to Us, he says: O would that between me and you there were the distance of the East and the West; so evil is the associate!

Till, when he cometh unto Us, he saith (unto his comrade): Ah, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two horizons – an evil comrade!

until when he comes to us he shall say, ‹O, would that between me and thee there were the distance of the two orients, for an evil mate (art thou)!›

Sonunda bize geldiğinde, şeytan, yoldaşına şöyle der: «Keşke aramızda iki doğu arası kadar uzaklık olsaydı. Ne kötü yoldaşmışsın sen!»

And when he comes before Us, he shall say: ‹Would that there had been between me and you, the distance of the two Easts! ‹ Evil is the companion.

But in the end when he comes to Us, he will say (to his split self), «Ah, I wish I was far apart from you as the East is from the West! Ah, what a miserable companion!»

When he comes before us he will say, «Oh I wish you were as far from me as the two easts. What a miserable companion!»

Until when man shall come before us, he shall say, «O Satan, would that between me and thee were the distance of the East and West.» And a wretched companion is a Satan.

Until, when he shall appear before us at the last day, he shall say unto the devil, would to God that between me and thee there was the distance of the east from the west! Oh how wretched a companion art thou!

Till when, such a one comes to US, he says to his companion, `Would that between me and thee were the distance of the East and the West !› What an evil companion he is !

Bis zuletzt, wenn ein solcher zu Uns kommt, er zu (seinem Gefährten) spricht: «O wäre doch zwischen mir und dir die Entfernung des Ostens und des Westens!» Was für ein schlimmer Gefährte ist er doch!

И вот когда он к Нам придет, он скажет: ■ «О, если б между мною и тобой ■ Легла земля от запада к востоку!» ■ О, как же скверен этот спутник!

Шайтанга ияреп хактан адашкан кеше шайтан белән кыямәт көнне Безнең хозурымызга килсәләр, ул кеше шайтан дустына әйтер: «Ий иптәш икебезнең арабыз мәшрийкъ илә мәгъриб арасы кадәр булсачы, ни явыз ибдәш булгансың син миңа», – дип.

یہاں تک کہ جب ہمارے پاس آئے گا تو کہے گا کہ اے کاش مجھ میں اور تجھ میں مشرق ومغرب کا فاصلہ ہوتا تو برا ساتھی ہے
