فَلَوْ لا نَصَرَهُمُ الَّذِينَ اتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ قُرْباناً آلِهَةً بَلْ ضَلُّوا عَنْهُمْ وَ ذلِكَ إِفْكُهُمْ وَ ما كانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ

فلو لا نصرهم الّذين اتّخذوا من دون اللّه قربانا آلهة بل ضلّوا عنهم و ذلك إفكهم و ما كانوا يفترون

Falawla nasarahumu allatheena ittakhathoo min dooni Allahi qurbanan alihatan bal dalloo AAanhum wathalika ifkuhum wama kanoo yaftaroona

از چه روي آن خداياني که سواي الله براي تقرب ، به خدايي گرفته بودند ياريشان نکردند ، بلکه از نظرشان گم شدند ؟ اين است دروغ و افترايشان

پس چرا كسانى كه به جاى خداوند به پرستش گرفته بودند، كه مايه تقربشان شود، يعنى آن خدايان ياريشان ندادند؟ بلكه از ديد آنان گم و گور شدند; و اين است افتراى ايشان و آنچه برمى ساختند.

پس چرا معبودانى كه بجاى پرستش خدا مى‏پرستيدند و بآنها تقرب ميجستند، آنان را يارى نكردند؟ بلكه از نظرشان محو و نابود شدند. پس دروغى بود بزرگ و افترايى بود كه از خود ساخته بودند.

پس چرا معبودانی که به جای خدا انتخاب کردند به گمان اینکه آنان را به خدا نزدیک کند، آنان را [هنگام نزول عذاب] یاری نکردند بلکه [گم شده] از دستشان رفتند، و این بود [سرانجام و نتیجه] دروغشان و آنچه را همواره افترا می زدند.

پس چرا يارى نكردند نابود شدگان را آن معبودان كه گرفته بودند مشركان (آنها را) بجز خدا براى تقرب بخداى يكتا بلكه آن معبودان غايب شدند از ايشان اين (گرفتن بتان را بخدائى) دروغ ايشان و افتراى ايشان است

پس چرا آن كسانى را كه غير از خدا، به منزله معبودانى، براى تقرّب [به خدا] اختيار كرده بودند، آنان را يارى نكردند بلكه از دستشان دادند؟ و اين بود دروغ آنان و آنچه برمى‏بافتند.

چرا معبودانى كه براى تقرب به خدا برگزيدند، ياريشان نكردند؟ بلكه از نظرشان گم شدند، اين است دروغشان و آنچه را افترا مى‏بستند.

پس چرا آنان را يارى نكردند كسانى كه، جز خدا براى تقرب، معبودان خود گرفتند. [نه‏] بلكه از ايشان گم شدند، و اين [سزاى‏] دروغ آنان بود، و آنچه [بدروغ‏] فرا مى‏بافتند.

پس چرا يارى نكردند ايشانرا آنان كه گرفتند از غير خدا وسيله تقرب كه؟؟؟؟ الاهانند بلكه گمشدند از ايشان و اينست دروغشان و آنچه را كه بودند افتراء ميكردند

پس چرا كسانى كه [ايشان را] براى تقرّب [به خدا] معبود [خود] گرفتند آنان را يارى نكردند؟ بلكه از [ديده‏] آنان ناپديد شدند و دروغشان و آنچه بر مى‏ساختند، همين است

پس چرا معبودانی را که غیر از خدا برگزیدند -به گمان اینکه به خدا نزدیکشان سازد- آنها را یاری نکردند؟! بلکه از میانشان گم شدند! این بود نتیجه دروغ آنها و آنچه افترا می‌بستند!

پس چرا آنهايى- خدايانى- كه به جاى خدا براى تقرب [به خدا] به خدايى گرفتند آنان را يارى نكردند؟ بلكه از آنان گم شدند، و اين بود [سرانجام‏] دروغ و بافته‏هاى آنان.

پس چرا يارى نكردند ايشان را آنان كه گرفتند از غير خدا وسيله تقرب كه الهانند بلكه گمشدند از ايشان و اينست دروغشان و آنچه را كه بودند افتراء ميكردند

پس چرا ياريشان نكردند آنان كه برگرفتند جز خدا براى نزديك شدن به خدا خدايانى بلكه گم شدند از ايشان و اين است دروغ ايشان (تهمت ايشان) و آنچه بودند دروغ مى آوردند

پس چرا جز خدا معبودانی که به آنها تقرب می‌جستند هیچ آنها را یاری نکردند؟بلکه از نظرشان محو و نابود شدند؟و این خدایی آن بتها سخنان بی حقیقت و دروغی بود که خود می‌بافتند.

پس چرا معبوداني را كه قرار دادند تا آنها را به خدا نزديك تر كنند، به آنها كمكي نكردند؟ درعوض، آنها را طرد كردند. چنين بود خدايان دروغيني كه آنها به حد پرستش رساندند؛ چنين بود آيين تازه اي كه از خود ساخته بودند.

So if only those whom they took (as) an approachment to God, gods from other than God gave them victory/aid (if only their gods that they worship other than God would give them victory), but they misguided from them, and that (is) their lies/falsehood, and what they were fabricating/cutting and splitting.

Then why did those whom they had taken for aliha (gods) besides Allah, as a way of approach (to Allah) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).

Then why did those not help them that they had taken to themselves as mediators, gods apart from God? Not so; but they went astray from them, and that was their calumny, and what they had been forging.

But, then, did those [beings] whom they had chosen to worship as deities beside God, hoping that they would bring them nearer [to Him], help them [in the end]? [This clause gives the meaning of the expression qurbanan, which contains an allusion not merely to false deities but also to the deification of saints, living or dead, who allegedly act as mediators between man and the transcendental Supreme Being.] Nay, they forsook them: for that [alleged divinity] was but an outcome of their self-delusion and all their false imagery. [Lit., «that was their lie and all that they were wont to invent».]

Waarom ondersteunden haar niet degenen, welke zij als goden namen naast God, en met welker toegenegenheid zij waanden vereerd te zijn? Neen, zij onttrokken zich aan hunne blikken. Maar het was hunne valsche meening, die hen verleidde, en de godslastering, welke zij hadden uitgedacht.

Why then did the idols they set up to bring them closer to God fail to help them? Instead, they abandoned them. Such was their lie, and what they fabricated.

Perché mai non li soccorsero coloro che si erano presi come intermediari e dèi, all’infuori di Allah? Anzi, li abbandonarono, non erano altro che calunnie e menzogne.

Then why did those whom they had taken for aliha (gods) besides Allah, as a way of approach (to Allah) not help them? Nay, but they vanished completely from them (when there came the torment). And that was their lie, and their inventions which they had been inventing (before their destruction).

Почему же им не помогли, те божества, которым они поклонялись вместо Аллаха для того, чтобы приблизиться к Нему? Напротив, они скрылись от них. Вот их ложь и то, что они измышляли!

Так почему же те, которых они признали богами помимо Аллаха, не помогли им приблизиться к Нему? Ведь они (т. е. боги) [в час наказания] не пришли [на помощь]. Они (т. е. ‹адиты) просто лгали, и эти [боги] – плод их измышлений.

Why did not then those help them whom they took for gods besides Allah to draw (them) nigh (to Him)? Nay! they were lost to them; and this was their lie and what they forged.

Then why did those whom they had chosen for gods as a way of approach (unto Allah) not help them? Nay, but they did fail them utterly. And (all) that was their lie, and what they used to invent.

Why did not those help them, whom beside God they took for gods that could draw nigh to Him? Nay! they strayed away from them; for that was their lie and what they had forced.

Allah’ın yanında yakınlık sağlamak için edindikleri ilahlar, onlara yardım etseydi ya! Tam aksine, onlardan uzaklaşıp kayboldular. Bu, onların yalanları, uydurup durduklarıydı.

Why did not those who they took, other than Allah, as mediating gods help them! Indeed, they went astray from them! Such were their lies and what they were forging.

Why did then no help come to them from those whom they idolized besides Allah, as a means of nearness (to Him)? Nay, their idols abandoned them, for that was their falsehood and fabrication.

Why then did the idols they set up to bring them closer to GOD fail to help them? Instead, they abandoned them. Such were the false gods they idolized; such were the innovations they fabricated.

But did those whom they took for gods beside God as his kindred deities, help them? Nay, they withdrew from them. Such was their delusion, and their device!

Did those protect them, whom they took for gods, besides God, and imagined to be honoured with his familiarity? Nay; they withdrew from them: Yet this was their false opinion which seduced them, and the blasphemy which they had devised.

Why, then, did not those help them whom they had taken for gods beside ALLAH that they might bring them near to Him ? Nay, they were lost to them. That was the consequence of their lie, and of what they fabricated.

Warum haben ihnen denn die nicht geholfen, die sie sich zu Göttern genommen hatten statt Allah (und die sie Ihm) nahe bringen sollten? Nein, sie entglitten ihnen. Das war ihre Lüge und was sie zu erfinden pflegten.

Так почему ж на помощь не пришли к ним те, ■ Кого они богами взяли? ■ Как средство приближения (к Аллаху) ■ Они (их предали и) отошли от них, – ■ Вот в этом и была их ложь ■ И то, что (для себя) измыслили они.

Шул вакытта ни өчен Аллаһудан башка якын күреп гыйбадәт кылган сынымнары аларны Аллаһ ґәзабыннан коткармады? Бәлки ґәзаб иңгәндә сынымнары күздән югалдылар, ошбу сынымнарны Аллаһуга якын итүче диюләре аларның ялганнарыдыр һәм Аллаһуга тиңдәш, дип, ифтираларыдыр.

تو جن کو ان لوگوں نے تقرب (خدا) کے سوا معبود بنایا تھا انہوں نے ان کی کیوں مدد نہ کی۔ بلکہ وہ ان (کے سامنے) سے گم ہوگئے۔ اور یہ ان کا جھوٹ تھا اور یہی وہ افتراء کیا کرتے تھے

پھر ان (بتوں) نے ان کی مدد کیوں نہ کی جن کو انہوں نے تقرّبِ (الٰہی) کے لئے اﷲ کے سوا معبود بنا رکھا تھا، بلکہ وہ (معبودانِ باطلہ) ان سے گم ہو گئے، اور یہ (بتوں کو معبود بنانا) ان کا جھوٹ تھا اور یہی وہ بہتان (تھا) جو وہ باندھا کرتے تھے،
