وَ لَوْ شاءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ النَّاسَ أُمَّةً واحِدَةً وَ لا يَزالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ

و لو شاء ربّك لجعل النّاس أمّة واحدة و لا يزالون مختلفين

Walaw shaa rabbuka lajaAAala alnnasa ommatan wahidatan wala yazaloona mukhtalifeena

و اگر پروردگار تو خواسته بود ، همه مردم را يک امت کرده بود ، ولي ، همواره گونه گون خواهند بود ،

و اگر پروردگارت مى خواست مردم را امت يگانه اى قرار مى داد; ولى همچنان اختلاف مىورزند.

و اگر پروردگار تو مى‏خواست، همه مردم را امتى واحد، قرار ميداد، ولى هميشه با هم در اختلاف خواهند بود.

اگر پروردگارت می خواست یقیناً تمام مردم را [از روی اجبار، در مسیر هدایت] امت واحدی قرار می داد، [ولی نخواست به همین سبب] همواره [در امر دین] در اختلاف اند.

و اگر مى‏خواست خدا (به اراده تكوينى) قرار ميداد مردم را يك گروه (ولى نخواست) و پيوسته ايشان (در امر دين) اختلاف مى‏كنند

و اگر پروردگار تو مى‏خواست، قطعاً همه مردم را امّت واحدى قرار مى‏داد، در حالى كه پيوسته در اختلافند،

اگر پروردگارت مى‏خواست مردمان را يك امت قرار مى‏داد ولى آنها مدام در تفرقه‏اند.

و اگر پروردگار تو مى‏خواست، مردم را امت واحدى مى‏ساخت، و حال آنكه پيوسته اختلاف مى‏كنند،

و اگر خواستى پروردگار هر آينه گردانيدى مردمان را امت واحده و هميشه باشند اختلاف كنندگان

و اگر پروردگارت مى‏خواست، مردمان را يك امت قرار مى‏داد. ولى همواره مختلف‏اند

و اگر پروردگارت می‌خواست، همه مردم را یک امّت (بدون هیچ گونه اختلاف) قرار می‌داد؛ ولی آنها همواره مختلفند…

و اگر پروردگار تو مى‏خواست همه مردم را يك امّت- بر يك دين- كرده بود ولى پيوسته در اختلاف و جدايى خواهند بود،

و اگر خواستى پروردگار هر آينه گردانيدى مردمان را امت واحده و هميشه باشند اختلاف كنندگان

و اگر مى خواست پروردگار تو هر آينه مى گردانيد مردم را يك ملت و پيوسته اختلاف كنندگان باشند

و اگر خدای تو می‌خواست همه (ملل و مذاهب) خلق را یک امت می‌گردانید و لیکن دائم با هم در اختلاف خواهند بود.

اگر پروردگارت مي ‌خواست، همه مردم يک امت (مؤمن) مي شدند، ولي آنها هميشه (درباره حقيقت) اختلاف خواهند داشت.

And if your Lord willed/wanted He would have made the people one nation, and they still/continue differing/disagreeing .

And if your Lord had so willed, He could surely have made mankind one Ummah (nation or community (following one religion only i.e. Islam)), but they will not cease to disagree,-

Had thy Lord willed, He would have made mankind one nation; but they continue in their differences

And had thy Sustainer so willed, He could surely have made all mankind one single community: but [He willed it otherwise, and so] they continue to hold divergent views›

En indien het uw Heer had behaagd, zou hij alle menschen van nen godsdienst gemaakt hebben; maar zij zullen niet ophouden onder elkander te verschillen,

And had your Lord wished, He could have made all mankind one nation, but they still would continue to disagree.

Se il tuo Signore avesse voluto, avrebbe fatto di tutti gli uomini una sola comunità. Invece non smettono di essere in contrasto tra loro,

And if your Lord had so willed, He could surely have made mankind one Ummah (nation or community (following one religion only i.e. Islam)), but they will not cease to disagree,-

Если бы твой Господь захотел, то Он сделал бы человечество единой общиной верующих. Однако они не перестают вступать в противоречия,

Если бы твой Господь захотел, то Он создал бы людей одной религиозной общиной. Но ведь люди не перестают вступать в противоречия [между собой],

And if your Lord had pleased He would certainly have made people a single nation, and they shall continue to differ.

And if thy Lord had willed, He verily would have made mankind one nation, yet they cease not differing,

Had thy Lord pleased, He would have made men one nation; but they will not cease to differ,

Eğer Rabbin dileseydi insanları elbette ki bir tek ümmet yapardı. Ama birbirleriyle çekişmeye devam edeceklerdir.

Had your Lord willed, He would have made mankind a single nation. But they continue in their differences

Had your Lord so willed, He could have made all mankind one single community, (but He has granted them free will as against other creatures (5:48)). Therefore, they continue to hold divergent views. Eventually however, the Divine Truth given in the Qur’an will be the dominant force in the world bringing most of the mankind together (9:33), (41:53), (48:28), (61:9).

Had your Lord willed, all the people would have been one congregation (of believers). But they will always dispute (the truth).

Had thy Lord pleased he would have made mankind of one religion: but those only to whom thy Lord hath granted his mercy will cease to differ.

And if thy Lord pleased, He would have made all men of one religion: But they shall not cease to differ among themselves,

And if thy Lord had enforced HIS will, HE would have surely made mankind one people; but they would not cease to differ;

Und hätte dein Herr Seinen Willen erzwungen, wahrlich, Er hätte die Menschen alle zu einer einzigen Gemeinde gemacht; doch sie wollten nicht ablassen, uneins zu sein;

И если б твой Господь желал, ■ То Он бы сделал всех людей одним народом, – ■ Они ж не прекращают разногласий,

Әгәр Раббың теләсә иде бөтен кешеләрне бер генә диндә кылыр иде. Кешеләр һаман да Аллаһ хөкемләрен бозып, диндә төрле юлларга китмәктәләр.

اور اگر تمہارا پروردگار چاہتا تو تمام لوگوں کو ایک ہی جماعت کردیتا لیکن وہ ہمیشہ اختلاف کرتے رہیں گے

اور اگر آپ کا رب چاہتا تو تمام لوگوں کو ایک ہی امت بنا دیتا (مگر اس نے جبراً ایسا نہ کیا بلکہ سب کو مذہب کے اختیار کرنے میں آزادی دی) اور (اب) یہ لوگ ہمیشہ اختلاف کرتے رہیں گے،
