أَ وَ لَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّماواتِ وَ الأَْرْضَ كانَتا رَتْقاً فَفَتَقْناهُما وَ جَعَلْنا مِنَ الْماءِ كُلَّ شَيْ‏ءٍ حَيٍّ أَ فَلا يُؤْمِنُونَ

أ و لم ير الّذين كفروا أنّ السّماوات و الأرض كانتا رتقا ففتقناهما و جعلنا من الماء كلّ شي‏ء حيّ أ فلا يؤمنون

Awa lam yara allatheena kafaroo anna alssamawati waal-arda kanata ratqan fafataqnahuma wajaAAalna mina alma-i kulla shay-in hayyin afala yu/minoona

آيا کافران نمي دانند که آسمانها و زمين بسته بودند ، ما آنها را گشوديم و هر چيز زنده اي را از آب پديد آورديم ؟ چرا ايمان نمي آورند ؟

آيا كافران نينديشيده اند كه آسمانها و زمين فروبسته بودند، آنگاه آنها را برگشاديم، و هر موجود زنده اى را از آب آفريده ايم، آيا ايمان نمى آورند؟

آيا كافران نديدند كه آسمانها و زمين بند آمده بود (خشكسالى شده بود) ما آنها را بازگشوديم و از آب هر چيز زنده را آفريديم آيا باز هم ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

آیا کافران ندانسته اند که آسمان ها و زمین به هم بسته و پیوسته بودند و ما آن دو را شکافته و از هم باز کردیم و هر چیز زنده ای را از آب آفریدیم؟ پس آیا ایمان نمی آورند؟

آيا نديدند (ندانستند) آنانكه كافر شدند آنكه آسمانها و زمين بودند بسته شده (يا بهم پيوسته) پس گشوديم آنها را و آفريديم از آب هر چيزى كه زنده است آيا مشركان (با وجود اين نشانه‏ها) ايمان نمى‏آورند

آيا كسانى كه كفر ورزيدند ندانستند كه آسمانها و زمين هر دو به هم پيوسته بودند، و ما آن دو را از هم جدا ساختيم، و هر چيز زنده‏اى را از آب پديد آورديم؟ آيا [باز هم‏] ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

مگر كافران نديدند كه آسمانها و زمين به هم پيوسته بودند و ما جدايشان كرديم؟ و هر چيز زنده‏اى را از آب پديد آورديم، آيا ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

آيا نديدند آن كسان كه كافر شدند كه آسمانها و زمين [در آغاز] به هم بسته بودند و ما آنها را از هم باز كرديم و هر چيز زنده را از آب ساختيم؟ پس آيا ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

آيا نديدند آنان كه كافر شدند كه آسمانها و زمين بودند بسته پس گشوديم آنها را و گردانيديم از آب هر چيز زنده را آيا پس نميگروند

آيا كافران ننگريسته‏اند كه آسمانها و زمين فروبسته بودند آن گاه آنها را باز گشوديم و هر چيز زنده را از آب پديد آورديم، آيا ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

آیا کافران ندیدند که آسمانها و زمین به هم پیوسته بودند، و ما آنها را از یکدیگر باز کردیم؛ و هر چیز زنده‌ای را از آب قرار دادیم؟! آیا ایمان نمی‌آورند؟!

آيا كسانى كه كافر شدند نديدند كه آسمانها و زمين بسته بودند پس آنها را بازگشاديم و هر چيز زنده‏اى را از آب پديد كرديم؟ پس آيا ايمان نمى‏آورند؟

آيا نديدند آنان كه كافر شدند كه آسمانها و زمين بودند بسته پس گشوديم آنها را و گردانيديم از آب هر چيز زنده را آيا پس نمى‏گروند

آيا نديدند آنان كه كفر ورزيدند كه آسمانها و زمين بسته بودند پس شكافتيم آنها را و گردانيديم از آب هر چيز را زنده پس آيا ايمان نمى آورند

آیا کافران ندیدند که آسمانها و زمین بسته بود ما آنها را بشکافتیم و از آب هر چیز زنده‌ای را آفریدیم؟پس چرا باز (مردم طبیعت و ماده‌پرست) به خدا ایمان نمی‌آورند؟

آيا کافران درک نمي کنند که آسمان و زمين در آغاز به صورت يک توده جامد بود و ما آن را منفجر ساختيم تا موجوديت پيدا کند؟ و هر چيز زنده اي را از آب به وجود آورديم. آيا ايمان مي آورند؟

Did those who disbelieved not see that the skies/space and the earth/Planet Earth, they (B) were joined , so We split/ruptured them (B) , and We made/created from the water every thing alive/living, so do they not believe?

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

Have not the unbelievers then beheld that the heavens and the earth were a mass all sewn up, and then We unstitched them and of water fashioned every living thing? Will they not believe?

ARE, THEN, they who are bent on denying the truth not aware that the heavens and the earth were [once] one single entity, which We then parted asunder? – [The above unmistakable reference to the unitary origin of the universe – metonymically described in the Quran as «the heavens and the earth» – strikingly anticipates the view of almost all modern astrophysicists that this universe has originated from one entity, which became subsequently consolidated through gravity and then separated into individual nebulae, galaxies and solar systems, with further individual parts progressively breaking away to form new entities in the shape of stars, planets etc. (Regarding the Quranic reference to the phenomenon described by the term «expanding universe», see 51:47 and the corresponding note.)] and [that] We made out of water every living thing? Will they not, then, [begin to] believe? [The statement that God «made out of water every living thing» expresses most concisely a truth that is nowadays universally accepted by science. It has a threefold meaning: 1 Water was the environment within which the prototype of all living matter originated; 2 among all the innumerable – existing or conceivable – liquids, only water has the peculiar properties necessary for the emergence and development of life; and 3 the protoplasm, which is the physical basis of every living cell – whether in plants or in animals – and represents the only form of matter in which the phenomena of life are manifested, consists overwhelmingly of water and is, thus, utterly dependent on it. Read together with the preceding statement, which alludes to the unitary origin of the physical universe, the emergence of life from and within an equally unitary element points to the existence of a unitary plan underlying all creation and, hence, to the existence and oneness of the Creator. This accent on the oneness of God and the unity of this creation is taken up again in verse 92 below.]

Weten de ongeloovigen dus niet, dat de hemelen en de aarde vast waren, en dat wij die van een gescheiden hebben, en dat wij door middel van water het leven aan alle dingen geven? Zullen zij dus niet gelooven?

Did those who reject not see that the heavens and the Earth were one piece and We tore them apart? And that We made from the water everything that lives. Will they not believe?

Non sanno dunque i miscredenti che i cieli e la terra formavano una massa compatta? Poi li separammo e traemmo dall’acqua ogni essere vivente. Ancora non credono?

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?

Неужели неверующие не видят, что небеса и земля были единым целым и что Мы разделили их и сотворили все живое из воды? Неужели они не уверуют?

Неужели же неверные не знают, что небеса и земля были единым целым и что Мы разделили их и сотворили все живое из воды? Неужели же они [и после этого] не уверуют?

Do not those who disbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were closed up, but We have opened them; and We have made of water everything living, will they not then believe?

Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were of one piece, then We parted them, and we made every living thing of water? Will they not then believe?

Do not those who misbelieve see that the heavens and the earth were both solid, and we burst them asunder; and we made from water every living thing – will they then not believe?

O küfre sapanlar görmediler mi ki gökler ve yer bitişik idi, biz onları ayırdık. Her canlı şeyi sudan oluşturduk. Hâlâ iman etmeyecekler mi?

Have the unbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were sewn up as one (solid) mass, then We unstitched them, and that We made every living thing of water? Will they not believe!

Are not the disbelievers willing to consider that the heavens and the earth used to be one solid mass that We exploded into parting (79:30) and We made out of water every living thing? (24:45). Will they not then (some day) believe? (Numerous celestial bodies came into being and started swimming along in their orbits (21:33), (36:40)).

Do the unbelievers not realize that the heaven and the earth used to be one solid mass that we exploded into existence? And from water we made all living things. Would they believe?

Do not the infidels see that the heavens and the earth were both a solid mass, and that we clave them asunder, and that by means of water we give life to everything? Will they not then believe?

Do not the unbelievers therefore know, that the heavens and the earth were solid, and We clave the same in sunder; and made every living thing of water? Will they not therefore believe?

Do not the disbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were a closed up-mass, then WE opened them out ? And WE made of water every living thing. Will they not then believe ?

Haben die Ungläubigen nicht gesehen, daß die Himmel und die Erde in einem einzigen Stück waren, dann zerteilten Wir sie? Und Wir machten aus Wasser alles Lebendige. Wollen sie denn nicht glauben?

Ужель неверные не видят, ■ Что небо и земля единой массой были, ■ Которую Мы рассекли на части, ■ И извели из животворной влаги всяко живое существо? ■ Неужто не уверуют они?

Әйә кәферләргә белдерелмәдеме, җир һәм күкләр бергә кушылган иделәр, Без аларны аердык вә һәр терек мәхлукны судан халык кылдык. Инде шуларны белеп тә иман китермиләрме?

کیا کافروں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ آسمان اور زمین دونوں ملے ہوئے تھے تو ہم نے جدا جدا کردیا۔ اور تمام جاندار چیزیں ہم نے پانی سے بنائیں۔ پھر یہ لوگ ایمان کیوں نہیں لاتے؟

اور کیا کافر لوگوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ جملہ آسمانی کائنات اور زمین (سب) ایک اکائی کی شکل میں جڑے ہوئے تھے پس ہم نے ان کو پھاڑ کر جدا کر دیا، اور ہم نے (زمین پر) پیکرِ حیات (کی زندگی) کی نمود پانی سے کی، تو کیا وہ (قرآن کے بیان کردہ اِن حقائق سے آگاہ ہو کر بھی) ایمان نہیں لاتے،
