إِلاَّ عَلى أَزْواجِهِمْ أَوْ ما مَلَكَتْ أَيْمانُهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ غَيْرُ مَلُومِينَ
إلاّ على أزواجهم أو ما ملكت أيمانهم فإنّهم غير ملومين
Illa AAala azwajihim aw ma malakat aymanuhum fa-innahum ghayru maloomeena
جز بر همسران يا کنيزان خويش ، که در نزديکي با آنان مورد ملامت قرار نمي گيرند ،
مگر در مورد زنانشان يا ملك يمينشان، كه در اين صورت آنان نكوهيده نيستند.
مگر در مورد زنان عقدى يا زنان ملكى خودشان و (در مباشرت با اين زنان) هيچگونه سرزنشى براى آنان نيست.
مگر در [کام جویی از] همسران یا کنیزانشان، که آنان [در این زمینه] مورد سرزنش نیستند.
مگر از همسران خود و كنيزان خود كه مالك آنها شدهاند و البته ايشان نكوهيده نيستند
مگر در مورد همسرانشان يا كنيزانى كه به دست آوردهاند، كه در اين صورت بر آنان نكوهشى نيست.
جز بر همسران و كنيزانشان كه در اين صورت قابل ملامت نيستند
مگر بر زنان خويش، يا بر [كنيزكانى] كه دستهايشان مالك شد، بىگمان ايشان [در اين كار] ملامت نشوند.
مگر بر زوجهاشان يا آنچه را مالك شد دستهاشان بدرستيكه ايشان نيستند ملامت شدگان
مگر بر همسرانشان يا [بر] ملك يمينهايشان. بى گمان اينان [سزاوار] نكوهش نيستند
تنها آمیزش جنسی با همسران و کنیزانشان دارند، که در بهرهگیری از آنان ملامت نمیشوند؛
مگر بر همسران يا كنيزان خويش، كه [براى آميزش با آنان] سرزنش نشوند،
مگر بر زوجهاشان يا آنچه را مالك شد دستهاشان بدرستى كه ايشان نيستند ملامت شدگان
مگر بر همسران خود يا آنچه دارا است دستهاى ايشان كه ايشانند نانكوهيدگان
مگر بر جفتهاشان (که زنان عقدی آنها باشند) یا کنیزان ملکی متصرفی آنها که هیچگونه ملامتی (در مباشرت این زنان) بر آنها نیست.
آنها فقط با همسران خود، يا كساني كه قانوناً متعلق به آنها هستند، رابطه جنسي دارند؛ آنها مورد سرزنش قرار نمي گيرند.
Except on (to) their spouses or what their rights/oaths owned/possessed (i.e. caregivers under contract), so they truly are not blameworthy/blamed.
Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame;
save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy
[not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses – that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: [Lit., «or those whom their right hands possess» (aw ma malakat aymanuhum). Many of the commentators assume unquestioningly that this relates to female slaves, and that the particle aw («or») denotes a permissible alternative. This interpretation is, in my opinion, inadmissible inasmuch as it is based on the assumption that sexual intercourse with ones female slave is permitted without marriage: an assumption, which is contradicted by the Quran itself (see 4:3, 24, 25 and 24:32, with the corresponding notes). Nor is this the only objection to the above-mentioned interpretation. Since the Quran applies the term «believers» to men and women alike, and since the term azwaj («spouses»), too, denotes both the male and the female partners in marriage, there is no reason for attributing to the phrase ma malakat aymanuhum the meaning of «their female slaves»; and since, on the other hand, it is out of the question that female and male slaves could have been referred to here it is obvious that this phrase does not relate to slaves at all, but has the same meaning as in 4:24 – namely, «those whom they rightfully possess through wedlock (see note on 4:24) – with the significant difference that in the present context this expression relates to both husbands and wives, who «rightfully possess» one another by virtue of marriage. On the basis of this interpretation, the particle aw which precedes this clause does not denote an alternative («or») but is, rather, in the nature of an explanatory amplification, more or less analogous to the phrase «in other words» or «that is», thus giving to the whole sentence the meaning, «save with their spouses – that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]», etc. (Cf. a similar construction 25:62 – «for him who has the will to take thought -that is [lit., «or»], has the will to be grateful».)] for then, behold, they are free of all blame,
En die hunne genietingen bepalen tot hunne vrouwen, of de slaven welke door hunne rechterhand worden bezeten; want dan zullen zij zonder blaam zijn.
Except around their mates, or those who are their dependants, they are free from blame.
eccetto con le loro spose e con schiave che possiedono – e in questo non sono biasimevoli,

кроме своих жен или невольниц, которыми овладели их десницы, за что они не заслуживают порицания,
кроме как со своими женами или невольницами, за что они непорицаемы.
Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable,
Save from their wives or the (slaves) that their right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy,
except for their wives or what their right hands possess for then, verily, they are not to be blamed;-
Eşleri yahut akitleri aracılığıyla sahip bulundukları müstesnadır. Bu durumda kınanmış değillerdir onlar.
except with their wives and what their right hand possess, and then they are not blamed.
Not giving way to their desires with any but their spouses – that is, those whom they each other rightfully possess. Behold, they are free of all blame. (4:3), (4:24), (4:25), (24:32.)
Only with their spouses, or those who are rightfully theirs, do they have sexual relations; they are not to be blamed.

Es sei denn mit ihren Gattinnen oder denen, die ihre Rechte besitzt, denn dann sind sie nicht zu tadeln;
Довольствуясь женой или рабыней, ■ (Которой он свободу подарил и в жены принял), – ■ Их порицанье Наше не коснется.
Мәгәр үз хатыннарыннан вә хуҗа булган җария хатыннан сакланмаслар моның өчен алар шелтә ителмәсләр.
مگر اپنی بیویوں سے یا (کنیزوں سے) جو ان کی مِلک ہوتی ہیں کہ (ان سے) مباشرت کرنے سے انہیں ملامت نہیں
سوائے اپنی بیویوں کے یا ان باندیوں کے جو ان کے ہاتھوں کی مملوک ہیں، بیشک (احکامِ شریعت کے مطابق ان کے پاس جانے سے) ان پر کوئی ملامت نہیں،
