فَأَخَذَهُمُ الْعَذابُ إِنَّ فِي ذلِكَ لآَيَةً وَ ما كانَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ مُؤْمِنِينَ

فأخذهم العذاب إنّ في ذلك لآية و ما كان أكثرهم مؤمنين

Faakhathahumu alAAathabu inna fee thalika laayatan wama kana aktharuhum mu/mineena

پس عذاب آنها را فرو گرفت هر آينه در اين عبرتي است ، و بيشترينشان ايمان نياوردند

و عذاب ايشان را فرو گرفت; بيگمان در اين مايه عبرتى هست، و بيشترينه آنان مؤمن نبودند.

پس بعذاب موعود گرفتار شدند. مسلما در آن نشانه‏هائيست (از قدرت پروردگار تو) ولى اكثر مردم ايمان نميآورند.

در نتیجه عذاب آنان را فرا گرفت. بی تردید در این سرگذشت، عبرتی بزرگ وجود دارد و [قوم صالح] بیشترشان مؤمن نبودند،

و گرفت ايشان را آن عذاب موعود البته در آن (چه بر قوم ثمود فرستاديم) دلالتى است و نبودند بيشتر ايشان گرويدگان

آنگاه آنان را عذاب فرو گرفت. قطعاً در اين [ماجرا] عبرتى است، و[لى‏] بيشترشان ايمان‏آورنده نبودند.

آن گاه عذاب آنها را فرا گرفت. به راستى كه در اين ماجرا عبرتى است ولى اكثر آنها ايمان نياوردند،

و عذاب آنها را بگرفت، بى‏گمان در آن آيتى بود و ليكن بيشترشان مؤمن نبودند.

پس گرفت ايشانرا عذاب بدرستيكه در آن هر آينه آيتى است و نباشند اكثرشان گروندگان

سپس عذاب آنان را فرو گرفت. حقّا كه در اين نشانه‏اى است. و بيشترشان مؤمن نبودند

و عذاب الهی آنان را فرا گرفت؛ در این، آیت و نشانه‌ای است؛ ولی بیشتر آنان مؤمن نبودند!

پس عذاب آنان را فرو گرفت. همانا در اين نشانه و عبرتى است و بيشترشان مؤمن نبودند.

پس گرفت ايشان را عذاب بدرستى كه در آن هر آينه آيتى است و نباشند اكثرشان گروندگان

پس گرفت ايشان را عذاب همانا در اين است آيتى و نيستند بيشترشان ايمان آرندگان

آن گاه عذاب موعود آنان را درگرفت (و هلاک گردیدند) . همانا در هلاک این قوم آیت عبرتی (برای دیگران) بود، و اکثر آنها ایمان نیاوردند.

عذاب آنها را در بر گرفت. اين بايد درس عبرتي باشد، اما اكثر مردم مؤمن نيستند.

So the torture punished/took them, that in that (is) an evidence/sign (E) , and most of them were not believing.

So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.

and the chastisement seized them. Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers.

for the suffering [predicted by Salih,] befell them [then and there]. In this [story], behold, there is a message [unto men], even though most of them will not believe [in it]. [In my opinion, the specific message alluded to here relates, in the first instance, to the individual person’s emotional reluctance to visualize the limited, transitory character of his own life on earth (hinted at in verses 146 – l49 above) and, hence, the judgment that awaits everyone in the life to come; and, secondly, to the element of compassion for all other living beings as a basis of true morality.]

Want de straf, waarmede zij bedreigd waren geworden, overviel hen. Waarlijk, hierin was een teeken; maar het grootste deel van hen geloofde niet.

So the retribution took them. In that is a sign, but most of them are not believers.

So the torment overtook them. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers.

So the retribution came on them. Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers.

and the torment seized them; verily, in that is a sign; but most of them will never be believers:

Sonunda azap onları yakaladı. Bunda elbette bir ibret var. Ama onların çoğu inanan kişiler değildi.

and the punishment seized them. Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe.

So, the Retribution seized them. Herein is indeed a sign, yet most people are not believers (in the Law of Requital).

The retribution overwhelmed them. This should be a lesson, but most people are not believers.

For the punishment overtook them. In this truly was a sign, but most of them believed not.

For the punishment which had been threatened overtook them. Verily herein was a sign; but the greater part of them did not believe.

So the punishment overtook them. In that verily there is a Sign, but most of these would not believe.

Allein die Strafe ereilte sie. Hierin ist wahrlich ein Zeichen, jedoch die meisten von ihnen glauben nicht.

Расплата же (за этот грех) постигла их немедля, – ■ В этом, поистине, знаменье (для людей), ■ Но большинство из них не веруют (в Аллаха).

Һәм аларны ґәзаб тотты, боларның һәлак булуында да гыйбрәт бар. Аларның күбрәге ышанучы булмадылар.

سو ان کو عذاب نے آن پکڑا۔ بےشک اس میں نشانی ہے۔ اور ان میں اکثر ایمان لانے والے نہیں تھے

سو انہیں عذاب نے آپکڑا، بیشک اس (واقعہ) میں بڑی نشانی ہے، اور ان میں سے اکثر لوگ مومن نہ تھے،
