فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ فَقالَ أَحَطْتُ بِما لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَ جِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ

فمكث غير بعيد فقال أحطت بما لم تحط به و جئتك من سبإ بنبإ يقين

Famakatha ghayra baAAeedin faqala ahattu bima lam tuhit bihi waji/tuka min saba-in binaba-in yaqeenin

درنگش به درازا نکشيد بيامد و گفت : به چيزي دست يافته ام که تو دست نيافته بودي و از سبا برايت خبري درست آورده ام

آنگاه [هدهد] مدتى نه چندان دراز [در غيبت] درنگ كرد، سپس [آمد و] گفت من به چيزى كه تو به آن آگاهى نيافتى، آگاه شدم و برايت از سبا خبرى يقينى آورده ام.

ديرى نگذشت كه هدهد رسيد و گفت: من بچيزى اطلاع يافتم كه تو را از آن بى‏اطلاع بودى. من از شهر سبا خبرى موثق براى تو آورده‏ام.

پس [هدهد] زمانی نه چندان دور درنگ کرد [و با شتاب بازگشت،] پس گفت: [ای سلیمان!] من به چیزی آگاهی یافته ام که تو به آن آگاهی نیافته ای، و [من] از [سرزمین] سبا خبری مهم و یقینی برایت آورده ام.

پس درنگ كرد سليمان (يا هدهد) زمانى نه دور (كه هدهد آمد) و گفت احاطه كردم از دانش به چيزى احاطه نكردى بآن و آورده‏ام براى تو از شهر سبا داستانى درست

پس ديرى نپاييد كه [هدهد آمد و] گفت: «از چيزى آگاهى يافتم كه از آن آگاهى نيافته‏اى، و براى تو از «سبا» گزارشى درست آورده‏ام.

پس از لحظاتى كوتاه (هدهد آمد و) گفت: «من به چيزى وقوف يافته‏ام كه تو بر آن آگاه نشده‏اى، از سرزمين سبا خبر موثقى برايت آورده‏ام.

پس [سليمان‏] درنگ كرد، نه بسيار، و هدهد گفت: من احاطه يافتم بدانچه تو احاطه نيافتى و از «سبأ» خبرى بتو آوردم خبرى كه يقين است.

پس درنگ نمود نه دور پس گفت احاطه كردم بآنچه احاطه نكرده بآن و آوردم ترا از سبا خبرى بحقيقت

پس [هدهد] مدتى نه چندان دراز درنگ كرد، آن گاه گفت: به چيزى احاطه يافته‏ام كه [تو] به آن احاطه [و آگاهى‏] نداشته‏اى و از [قبيله‏] سبا برايت خبرى يقينى آورده‏ام

چندان درنگ نکرد (که هدهد آمد و) گفت: «من بر چیزی آگاهی یافتم که تو بر آن آگاهی نیافتی؛ من از سرزمین «سبا» یک خبر قطعی برای تو آورده‌ام!

پس درنگش- درنگ سليمان يا هدهد- ديرى نپاييد [كه هدهد آمد] و گفت: چيزى دريافته‏ام كه تو درنيافته‏اى، و از سبا- شهرى در يمن- برايت خبرى درست آورده‏ام.

پس درنگ نمود نه دور پس گفت احاطه كردم بانچه احاطه نكرده بان و آوردم ترا از سبا خبرى بحقيقت

پس درنگ كرد نه دور گفت فراگرفتم آنچه را فرانگرفتى آن را و آوردمت از سبا داستانى را يقين

پس از اندک مکثی هدهد حاضر شد و گفت: من به چیزی که تو از آن (در جهان) آگاه نشده‌ای خبر یافتم و از ملک سبا تو را خبری راست و مهم آوردم.

ديري نپاييد. (هدهد) گفت: من خبري دارم که تو نداري. من از سبا براي تو اطلاعات مهمي آورده ام.

So it waited/remained not far/distant, so it said: «I became aware/enveloped with what you did not become aware (of)/envelope with it, and I came to you from Sheba with sure/certain news/information.»

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: «I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba (Sheba) with true news.

But he tarried not long, and said, ‹I have comprehended that which thou hast not comprehended, and I have come from Sheba to thee with a sure tiding.

But [the hoopoe] tarried but a short while; and [when it came] it said: «I have encompassed [with my knowledge] something that thou hast never yet encompassed [with thine] – for I have come to thee from Sheba with a tiding sure! [Thus, we are parabolically reminded that even the most lowly being can – and on occasion does – have knowledge of things of which even a Solomon in all his wisdom may he ignorant (Razi) – a reminder which ought to counteract the ever-present danger (fitnah) of self-conceit to which learned men, more than anyone else, are exposed (Zamakhshari). En het duurde niet lang, voor hij zich aan Salomo vertoonde, en zeide: Ik heb eene plaats gezien, welke gij niet gezien hebt, en ik kom tot u van Saba, met zeker nieuws.

But the hoopoe did not stay away long, then he said: "I have seen what you do not know, and I have come to you from Sheba with news which is certain."

Ma non tardò ancora per molto. Disse: «Ho appreso qualcosa che tu non conosci: ti porto notizie certe sui Sabâ:

But the hoopoe stayed not long, he (came up and) said: "I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba (Sheba) with true news.

And he tarried not long, then said: I comprehend that which you do not comprehend and I have brought to you a sure information from Sheba.

But he was not long in coming, and he said: I have found out (a thing) that thou apprehendest not, and I come unto thee from Sheba with sure tidings.

And he tarried not long, and said, ‹I have compassed what ye compassed not; for I bring you from Seba a sure information:

Az sonra Hüdhüd gelip şöyle dedi: «Senin fark edemeyeceğin bir şeyi fark ettim ve sana Sabâ’dan parlak bir haber getirdim.»

He was not long in coming, and said: ‹I know what you do not know. I come to you from Sheba with certain news.

But before long Al-hoodhood showed up. (He was coming back from a reconnaissance mission to the Kingdom of Queen Bilqis, Sheba). He said, «I have come with the latest news, some important and reliable information from the land of Sheba that you are not aware of.» (Their armies were planning an expedition towards the North).

He did not wait for long. (The hoopoe) said, «I have news that you do not have. I brought to you from Sheba, some important information.

Nor tarried it long ere it came and said, «I have gained the knowledge that thou knowest not, and with sure tidings have I come to thee from Saba:

And she tarried not long before she presented herself unto Solomon, and said, I have viewed a country which thou hast not viewed; and I come unto thee from Saba, with a certain piece of news.

And he did not tarry long before Hudhud came and said, `I have acquired knowledge of that of which thou hast no knowledge; and I have come to thee from Saba› with sure tidings;

Und er säumte nicht lange (bis daß Wiedehopf kam) und sprach: «Ich habe erfaßt, was du nicht erfaßt hast; und ich bin aus Saba zu dir gekommen mit sicherer Kunde

Удод же задержался ненадолго ■ И, (прилетев), сказал: ■ «Узнал я то, чего не знаешь ты. ■ Я прилетел к тебе от Сабы с верной вестью.

Аз гына вакыт үткәч, һүд-һүд гаепле кеше кеби башын иеп түбәнчелек белән Сөләйман янына килде, вә әйтте: «Ий патшам, мин ерак җиргә барып син белмәгәнне белдем, вә Сәба шәһәреннән сиңа хак булган яңа хәбәр белән килдем.

ابھی تھوڑی ہی دیر ہوئی تھی کہ ہُدہُد آ موجود ہوا اور کہنے لگا کہ مجھے ایک ایسی چیز معلوم ہوئی ہے جس کی آپ کو خبر نہیں اور میں آپ کے پاس (شہر) سبا سے ایک سچی خبر لے کر آیا ہوں

پس وہ تھوڑی ہی دیر (باہر) ٹھہرا تھا کہ اس نے (حاضر ہو کر) عرض کیا: مجھے ایک ایسی بات معلوم ہوئی ہے جس پر (شاید) آپ مطلع نہ تھے اور میں آپ کے پاس (ملکِ) سبا سے ایک یقینی خبر لایا ہوں،
