قالَتْ إِنَّ الْمُلُوكَ إِذا دَخَلُوا قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوها وَ جَعَلُوا أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِها أَذِلَّةً وَ كَذلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

قالت إنّ الملوك إذا دخلوا قرية أفسدوها و جعلوا أعزّة أهلها أذلّة و كذلك يفعلون

Qalat inna almulooka itha dakhaloo qaryatan afsadooha wajaAAaloo aAAizzata ahliha athillatan wakathalika yafAAaloona

زن گفت : پادشاهان چون به قريه اي در آيند ، تباهش مي کنند و عزيزانش را ذليل مي سازند آري چنين کنند

[بلقيس] گفت همانا پادشاهان چون به شهرى درآيند، آن را به تباهى كشند و گرانقدران اهلش را بيمقدار گردانند، و اين گونه عمل كنند.

(ملكه سبا) گفت: البته پادشاهان وقتى (با جنگ و خونريزى) وارد شهرى شوند، تمام آن را با خاك يكسان ميكنند و عزيزان شهر را ذليل مى‏سازند و بدينسان عمل مى‏كنند.

گفت: همانا پادشاهان هنگامی که [با ابزار، ادوات جنگی و سپاهی رزمی ] وارد شهری می شوند، آن را تباه می کنند و عزیزان اهلش را به ذلت و خواری می نشانند و [آنان] همواره چنین می کنند!

بلقيس گفت البته پادشاهان هرگاه در آيند به كشورى تباه سازند آن را و بگردانند عزيزان مردم آن كشور را خوار و اين چنين مى‏كنند

[ملكه‏] گفت: «پادشاهان چون به شهرى درآيند، آن را تباه و عزيزانش را خوار مى‏گردانند، و اين گونه مى‏كنند.»

گفت: «پادشاهان چون به ديارى درآيند آن را ويران سازند و عزيزانش را ذليل كنند، و رفتارشان چنين است.

[بلقيس‏] گفت: به يقين پادشاهان چون به قريه‏اى در آيند آن را خراب كنند و عزيزان آن را خوار سازند و اين چنين كنند.

گفت بدرستيكه شاهان چون داخل شوند بقريه‏اى تباه ميسازند آنرا و ميگردانند عزيزان اهل آنرا ذليلان و همچنين ميكنند

[او] گفت: بى گمان چون پادشاهان به شهرى در آيند آن را ويران سازند و عزيزترين مردمانش را خوارترين مى‏گردانند و اين گونه عمل مى‏كنند

گفت: پادشاهان هنگامی که وارد منطقه آبادی شوند آن را به فساد و تباهی می‌کشند، و عزیزان آنجا را ذلیل می‌کنند؛ (آری) کار آنان همین‌گونه است!

گفت: پادشاهان هر گاه به آبادى و شهرى در آيند تباهش كنند و عزيزان مردم آن را خوار گردانند. [آرى‏] و چنين مى‏كنند.

گفت بدرستى كه شاهان چون داخل شوند بقريه‏اى تباه ميسازند آنرا و ميگردانند عزيزان اهل آنرا ذليلان و همچنين ميكنند

گفت آن زن همانا شهان هرگاه به كشورى درآيند تباهش كنند و بگردانند مهتران مردمش را كهتران و بدينسان كار كنند

بلقیس گفت: پادشاهان چون به دیاری حمله آرند آن کشور را ویران سازند و عزیزترین اشخاص مملکت را ذلیل‌ترین افراد گیرند و رسم و سیاستشان بر این کار خواهد بود.

او گفت: پادشاهان به هر سرزميني كه حمله کنند، آن را به تباهي مي ‌كشانند و مردم باعزت آنجا را به ذلت مي ‌نشانند. اين كاري است كه معمولاً انجام مي ‌دهند.

She said: «That truly the kings if they entered a village/urban city they corrupted it and they made/put its more dignified/honoured people , humiliated/disgraced , and as/like that they make/do .»

She said: «Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do.

She said, ‹Kings, when they enter a city, disorder it and make the mighty ones of its inhabitants abased. Even so they too will do.

Said she: «Verily, whenever kings enter a country they corrupt it, [In this context – as pointed out by all classical commentators – the term dukhul undoubtedly connotes «entering by force (anwatan)», whether it be by armed invasion or by usurpation of political power from within the country. The term muluk, lit., «kings», may he understood to denote also persons who, while not being «kings» in the conventional sense of this word, wrongfully seize and forcibly hold absolute power over their «subjects».] and turn the noblest of its people into the most abject. And this is the way they [always] behave? [Thus, the Queen of Sheba rules out force as a suitable method for dealing with Solomon. Implied in her statement is the Quranic condemnation of all political power obtained through violence (anwatan) inasmuch as it is bound to give rise to oppression, suffering and moral corruption.]

Zij zeide: Waarlijk, als de koningen eene stad met geweld binnentrekken, plunderen zij die en vernederen hare machtigste inwoners en zoo zullen dezen met ons handelen.

She said: "When the kings enter a town they destroy it and make its most noble people humiliated. It is such that they do."

Disse: «In verità, quando i re penetrano in una città, la saccheggiano e riducono i miseria i più nobili dei suoi abitanti. E› così che agiscono.

She said: "Verily! Kings, when they enter a town (country), they despoil it, and make the most honourable amongst its people low. And thus they do.

Она сказала: «Когда цари вторгаются в селение, они разрушают его и превращают его самых славных жителей в самых униженных. Вот так они поступают.

[Царица] сказала: «Воистину, цари, когда вторгаются в какую-либо страну, разоряют ее и превращают знатных мужей в униженных. Так поступают они.

She said: Surely the kings, when they enter a town, ruin it and make the noblest of its people to be low, and thus they (always) do;

She said: Lo! kings, when they enter a township, ruin it and make the honour of its people shame. Thus will they do.

She said, ‹Verily, kings when they enter a city despoil it, and make the mighty ones of its people the meanest; thus it is they do!

Melike dedi: «Şu bir gerçek ki krallar bir kente/bir memlekete girdiler mi, orada bozgun çıkarırlar; oranın onurlu insanlarını zelil-sefil ederler. İşte böyle yaparlar.»

She said: ‹When kings enter a village, they ruin it and humiliate its nobles. And this they will do.

She said, «Behold, when kings invade a town, they ruin it and humiliate its dignitaries. This is what they shall do.

She said, «The kings corrupt any land they invade, and subjugate its dignified people. This is what they usually do.

She said, «Kings when they enter a city spoil it, and abase the mightiest of its people: and in like manner will these also do.

She said, verily kings, when they enter a city by force, waste the same, and abase the most powerful of the inhabitants hereof: And so will these do with us.

She said, `Surely, the kings, when they enter a country, despoil it, and turn the highest of its people into the lowest. And thus they always do;

Sie sprach: «Fürwahr Könige, wenn sie ein Land eindringen, sie verwüsten es und machen die höchsten unter seinen Bewohnern zu den niedrigsten. So verfahren sie.

Она ответила: ■ «Цари, входя в (иноплеменную) страну, ■ Губят ее и разоряют, ■ А благороднейших из жителей ее ■ Лишают уважения и чести, – ■ Так поступают (все) цари.

Бәлкыйс әйтте: «Әгәр патшалар бер шәһәргә һөҗүм белән керсәләр, ул шәһәрне җимерәләр, һәм хөрмәтле олуг кешеләрен иң түбән вә хур итеп калдыралар, патшалар әнә шулай кылырлар.

اس نے کہا کہ بادشاہ جب کسی شہر میں داخل ہوتے ہیں تو اس کو تباہ کر دیتے ہیں اور وہاں کے عزت والوں کو ذلیل کر دیا کرتے ہیں اور اسی طرح یہ بھی کریں گے

(ملکہ نے) کہا: بیشک جب بادشاہ کسی بستی میں داخل ہوتے ہیں تواسے تباہ و برباد کر دیتے ہیں اور وہاں کے باعزت لوگوں کو ذلیل و رسوا کر ڈالتے ہیں اور یہ (لوگ بھی) اسی طرح کریں گے،
