لَوْ أَنَّ عِنْدَنا ذِكْراً مِنَ الأَْوَّلِينَ

لو أنّ عندنا ذكرا من الأوّلين

Law anna AAindana thikran mina al-awwaleena

اگر از پيشينيان نزد ما کتابي مانده بود ،

كه اگر در دست ما كتابى از [كتابهاى آسمانى] پيشينيان بود،

اگر نزد ما كتابى از پيشينيان بود.

اگر نزد ما کتابی چون کتاب های آسمانی پیامبران پیشین بود،

اگر نزد ما ياد آورى (كتاب آسمانى) از پيشينيان بود

«اگر پند [نامه‏ا]ى از پيشينيان نزد ما بود،

چنانچه از كتب پيشينيان نزد ما بود،

اگر از پيشينيان نزد ما كتابى بود.

اگر بود نزد ما ذكرى از پيشينيان

اگر در نزد ما خبرى از پيشينيان بود

«اگر یکی از کتابهای پیشینیان نزد ما بود،

اگر نزد ما كتابى و پندى از پيشينيان بود- يعنى مانند آنان كتاب آسمانى داشتيم-،

اگر بود نزد ما ذكرى از پيشينيان

كه اگر مى بود نزد ما يادآوريى از پيشينيان

که اگر نزد ما کتابی از رسولان پیشین بود.

اگر دستورات درستي از والدينمان دريافت كرده بوديم،

If that (E) at us (is) a reminder/remembrance from the first/beginners.

«If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah).

‹If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients,

«If only we had a tradition [to this effect] from our forebears, [Lit., «a reminder (dhikr) from those of old»: see note on verses 69 – 70 above. Most of the commentators assume that the term dhikr connotes here, as so often in the Quran, a «divine writ». In my opinion, however, it is far more probable – because more in tune with the context – that in this case it signifies an ancestral tradition bearing on the (to them astonishing) message of God’s oneness and uniqueness as promulgated by the Quran.]

Indien wij door een boek met goddelijke openbaringen waren begunstigd geworden, van diegene welke aan de ouden werden geschonken.

"If only we had received a reminder from the previous generations,"

«Se avessimo avuto un monito [tramandatoci] dagli antichi,

"If we had a reminder as had the men of old (before the coming of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah).

«Если бы у нас было напоминание от первых поколений,

Если бы у нас было писание, как у прежних [общин],

Had we a reminder from those of yore,

If we had but a reminder from the men of old

‹Had we a reminder from those of yore

«Eğer katımızda öncekilere verilenlerden bir öğüt/bir düşündürücü olsaydı,

‹If only we had a reminder from the ancients,

«If only we had a reminder from the old generations, or a Scripture as they had,

«Had we received the correct instructions from our parents,

«Had we a revelation transmitted to us from those of old,

if we had been favoured with a book of divine revelations, of those which were delivered to the ancients,

`If we had with us a Reminder like that of the people of old,

«Hätten wir nur einen eigenen Gesandten gleich (den Gesandten) der Früheren,

Если б от наших предков мы имели Книгу,

«Әгәр әүвәлге өммәтләргә иңгән китап кеби безгә дә бер китап иңгән булса,

کہ اگر ہمارے پاس اگلوں کی کوئی نصیحت (کی کتاب) ہوتی

کہ اگر ہمارے پاس (بھی) پہلے لوگوں کی کوئی (کتابِ) نصیحت ہوتی،
