كَمْ أَهْلَكْنا مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ مِنْ قَرْنٍ فَنادَوْا وَ لاتَ حِينَ مَناصٍ

كم أهلكنا من قبلهم من قرن فنادوا و لات حين مناص

Kam ahlakna min qablihim min qarnin fanadaw walata heena manasin

چه بسا مردمي را که پيش از آنها به هلاکت رسانيديم آنان فرياد بر مي آوردند ولي گريزگاهي نبود

چه بسيار نسلها كه پيش از ايشان نابودشان كرديم و فرياد خواستند اما [زمان]، زمان گريز [و رهايى] نبود.

بسيارى از مردم قرون گذشته را قبل از اينان (بكيفر كفرشان) هلاك كرديم. آن گاه ناله و فرياد برآورند و هيچ راه گريزى نداشتند.

چه بسیار اقوامی که پیش از آنان هلاک کردیم که [وقت نزول عذاب] فریاد کمک خواهی سر دادند، در حالی که وقت گریز و یافتن پناه گاه نبود؛

بسيارى را هلاك كرديم پيش از كفار مكه از مردم روزگار و بانگ زدند و حال آنكه نبود آن هنگام گريختن

چه بسيار نسلها كه پيش از ايشان هلاك كرديم كه [ما را] به فرياد خواندند، و[لى‏] ديگر مجال گريز نبود.

چه بسيار مردمانى كه پيش از آنها هلاكشان كرديم فرياد مى‏زدند ولى گريزگاهى نبود.

چه بسيار گروه‏هايى كه پيش از ايشان هلاك كرديم كه فرياد خواستند تا توبه كنند، و ليكن آن زمان، زمان گريز از عذاب نبود.

بسا كه هلاك گردانيديم پيش از ايشان از اهل زمان گذشته پس ندا كردند و نبود آنهنگام هنگام گريز

چه بسيار نسلها را پيش از آنان نابود كرديم كه فرياد خواستند و زمان [زمان‏] رهايى نبود

چه بسیار اقوامی را که پیش از آنها هلاک کردیم؛ و به هنگام نزول عذاب فریاد می‌زدند (و کمک می‌خواستند) ولی وقت نجات گذشته بود!

بسا نسلها را كه پيش از آنان هلاك كرديم، پس فرياد برآوردند و آن هنگام گاه گريختن و رهايى نبود.

بسا كه هلاك گردانيديم پيش از ايشان از اهل زمان گذشته پس ندا كردند و نبود آن هنگام هنگام گريز

چه بسا نابود كرديم پيش از ايشان از قرنى كه بانگ زدند و نيست گاه رهائى

ما پیش از اینها طوایف بسیاری را به هلاکت رسانیدیم و آن هنگام فریادها کردند و هیچ راه نجاتی بر آنها نبود.

چه بسيار نسل هايي را كه پيش از آنها هلاك كرديم. فرياد آنها براي كمك بيهوده بود.

How many from (a) people of one era/generation We destroyed from before them? So they called: «And it is not the time, time for escape (expression) .»

How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape!

How many a generation We destroyed before them, and they called, but time was none to escape.

How many a generation have We destroyed before their time [for this very sin]! [It is to be noted that the term qarn signifies not merely a «generation» but also – and quite frequently in the Quran – «people belonging to a particular period and environment›, i.e., a «civilization» in the historical connotation of this word.] And [how] they called [unto Us] when it was too late to escape! [Lit., «while there was no time for escaping».]

Hoevele geslachten hebben wij voor hen verdelgd en zij riepen om genade; maar het was geen tijd meer om aan de straf te ontkomen.

How many a generation have We destroyed before them. And they called out when it was far too late.

Quante generazioni abbiamo annientato prima di loro! Lanciarono grida [d’aiuto] quando non c’era più tempo per sfuggire [al castigo].

How many a generation We have destroyed before them, and they cried out when there was no longer time for escape!

Как же много поколений погубили Мы до них! Они взывали, но уже было поздно для того, чтобы уклониться.

Onlardan önce nice nesilleri helâk ettik biz, bağrıştılar onlar, fakat kurtuluş yoktu; geçmişti zaman.

Wie so manches Geschlecht haben Wir schon vor ihnen vertilgt! Sie schrien, da keine Zeit mehr war zum Entrinnen.

А сколько разных поколений ■ Мы погубили прежде них! ■ (В конце пути) они взывали (о пощаде), ■ Но было то уже не время, ■ Когда они могли спастись от наказанья.

Үткән өммәтләрдән күпме өммәтне Без һәлак иттек, алар исә һәлакәт килгәндә кычкырдылар, ялвардылар, аларга ошбу вакыт котылмак, качмак вакыты түгелдер диелде.

ہم نے ان سے پہلے بہت سی اُمتوں کو ہلاک کردیا تو وہ (عذاب کے وقت) لگے فریاد کرنے اور وہ رہائی کا وقت نہیں تھا

ہم نے کتنی ہی امّتوں کو اُن سے پہلے ہلاک کر دیا تو وہ (عذاب کو دیکھ کر) پکارنے لگے حالانکہ اب خلاصی (اور رہائی) کا وقت نہیں رہا تھا،
