فَأَهْلَكْنا أَشَدَّ مِنْهُمْ بَطْشاً وَ مَضى مَثَلُ الأَْوَّلِينَ

فأهلكنا أشدّ منهم بطشا و مضى مثل الأوّلين

Faahlakna ashadda minhum batshan wamada mathalu al-awwaleena

آنها را که از ايشان نيرومندتر بودند هلاک کرديم و داستان پيشينيان گذشت

آنگاه دراز دست تر از آنان را نابود كرديم، و سرنوشت پيشينيان تكرار شد.

و ما نيرومندتر از آنان را (بكيفر كفرشان) محو و نابود كرديم و شرح حال آنها در (سوره‏هاى) پيشين گذشت.

پس ما نیرومندتر از این اسراف کاران [زمان تو] را هلاک کردیم و سرگذشت پیشینیان [هلاک شده، در سوره های دیگر قرآن] گذشت.

و نابود كرديم سختترين ايشان را از نظر نيرو و گذشت قصه پيشينيان (در قرآن)

و نيرومندتر از آنان را به هلاكت رسانيديم و سنّت پيشينيان تكرار شد.

ما نيرومندترين آنها را هلاك كرديم و وصف پيشينيان گذشت.

و ما هلاك كرديم شديدتر از آنها را به نيرو، و داستان پيشينيان بگذشت.

پس هلاك كرديم سخت تر از ايشانرا از لحاظ قدرت و گذشت داستان پيشينيان

پس سختگيرترين آنان را هلاك كرديم و داستان پيشينيان [بارها در قرآن‏] گذشته است

ولی ما کسانی را که نیرومندتر از آنها بودند هلاک کردیم، و داستان پیشینیان گذشت.

پس آنان را كه از اينان- كفار قريش- نيرومندتر بودند هلاك كرديم، و داستان پيشينيان گذشت- كه چه كردند و ما با آنها چه كرديم-.

پس هلاك كرديم سخت‏تر از ايشان را از لحاظ قدرت و گذشت داستان پيشينيان

پس نابود ساختيم سخت تر از ايشان را در نيرو (جنگ آورى) و گذشت مثَل پيشينيان

ما هم قوی‌ترین سرکشانشان را هلاک کردیم و شرح حال پیشینیان (برای عبرت مردم) گذشت.

درنتيجه، ما مردمي را كه حتي قدرتمندتر از ايشان بودند، هلاك كرديم. ما اين چنين از جوامع گذشته مثال ها مي زنيم.

So We destroyed , (those who were) stronger than them violent destruction/attack, and the first’s/beginner’s proverb/example passed/expired

Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).

so We destroyed men stronger in valour than they, and the example of the ancients passed away.

and so, [in the end,] We destroyed them [even though they were] of greater might than these: [I.e., than the people addressed in verse 5 above.] and the [very] image of those people of old became a thing of the past.

Daarom vernietigden wij volkeren die machtiger dan deze in sterkte waren, en het voorbeeld der vroegere volkeren is voor hen geplaatst.

We have destroyed those who were even more powerful than these, and the example of the previous generations has already been given.

Ne facemmo perire di ben più temibili! Già è nota la sorte degli antichi.

Then We destroyed men stronger (in power) than these, and the example of the ancients has passed away (before them).

Мы погубили тех, которые превосходили их мощью, и уже миновали примеры прежних поколений.

Мы истребили более могущественных, чем они, но пример прежних поколений уже перестал [существовать для них].

Then We destroyed those who were stronger than these in prowess, and the case of the ancients has gone before,

Then We destroyed men mightier than these in prowess; and the example of the men of old hath gone (before them).

then we destroyed them – more valiant than these; and the example of those of yore passed away.

Biz, gücü-kuvveti onlardan daha üstün olanları da helâk etmişizdir. Öncekilerin örneği geçti.

so We destroyed those who were mightier in courage than they. And the example of the ancients has passed away.

And so, We annihilated them. They were mightier in prowess than these are. They were made history and this fact should serve as an example for these people. (‹Madha mathal› = An image of the past, lost and gone).

Consequently, we annihilated people who were even more powerful than these. We thus set the examples from the previous communities.

Wherefore we destroyed nations mightier than these Meccans in strength; and the example of those of old hath gone before!

Wherefore We destroyed nations who were more mighty than these in strength; and the example of those who were of old, hath been already set before them.

And WE destroyed those who were mightier in power than these, and the example of the earlier peoples has gone before.

Darum vertilgten Wir, die stärker an Macht waren als diese, und das Beispiel der Früheren ist zuvor ergangen.

За то Мы погубили их, ■ Хоть силою своей они превосходили этих. ■ И (притчей) перешел пример (народов) прежних ■ (Для нынешних и будущих времен).

Алардан куәтлерәкләрен һәлак иттек, вә әүвәлдәге кешеләрнең һәлак булган кыйссалары Коръәндә күп җирдә сөйләнде.

تو جو ان میں سخت زور والے تھے ان کو ہم نے ہلاک کردیا اور اگلے لوگوں کی حالت گزر گئی

اور ہم نے اِن (کفّارِ مکہ) سے زیادہ زور آور لوگوں کو ہلاک کر دیا اور اگلے لوگوں کا حال (کئی جگہ پہلے) گزر چکا،
