إِنْ يَسْئَلْكُمُوها فَيُحْفِكُمْ تَبْخَلُوا وَ يُخْرِجْ أَضْغانَكُمْ

إن يسئلكموها فيحفكم تبخلوا و يخرج أضغانكم

In yas-alkumooha fayuhfikum tabkhaloo wayukhrij adghanakum

اگر از شما مالي طلبد و به اصرار هم طلبد ، آنگاه بخل مي ورزيد و کينه هاي نهفته تان را آشکار مي سازد

اگر آن را از شما بطلبد و بر شما سخت بگيرد [چه بس] بخل ورزيد و ناهمدلى شما را آشكار سازد.

و اگر خدا از مال و ثروت شما چيزى به اصرار و تأكيد بخواهد، شما بخل و امتناع ميورزيد و آن گاه خدا كينه و دشمنى و خبث باطنى شما را آشكار ميسازد.

اگر همه اموال شما را بخواهد و بر شما اصرار ورزد، بخل می کنید و [سبب می شود که] کینه های درونی شما را بیرون بریزد [و آن زمان است که گمراه می شوید.]

اگر بخواهد از شما همه اموالتان را و ايستادگى كند در خواستن آن از شما بخل ورزيد و برون آرد (آشكار كند) خدا كينه شما را

اگر [اموال‏] شما را بخواهد و به اصرار از شما طلب كند بخل مى‏ورزيد، و كينه‏هاى شما را برملا مى‏كند.

چرا كه اگر به اصرار، اموال شما را بخواهد بخل مى‏ورزيد و كينه‏هايتان را نشان مى‏دهيد.

[چه‏] گر آنها را از شما بخواهد و پافشارى كند، بخل كنيد، و [او] كينه‏هاى شما را آشكار كند.

اگر خواهد از شما آنها را پس مبالغه كند با شما بخيلى كنيد و بيرون آورد كينه‏هاى شما را

اگر آن را از شما بطلبد، آن گاه بر شما سخت گيرد، بخل ورزيد و [اين طلب‏] كينه‏هاى شما را آشكار سازد

چرا که هر گاه اموال شما را مطالبه کند و حتّی اصرار نماید، بخل می‌ورزید؛ و کینه و خشم شما را آشکار می‌سازد!

اگر آن را از شما بخواهد و در خواستن پافشارى نمايد، آنگاه بخل مى‏ورزيد و [به سبب مالدوستى‏تان‏] كينه‏هاى شما را آشكار مى‏سازد.

اگر خواهد از شما آنها را پس مبالغه كند با شما بخيلى كنيد و بيرون آورد كينه‏هاى شما را

اگر بپرسد آنها را از شما پس ايستادگى كند در خواستن (سختى ورزد) خوددارى كنيد و برون آرد (آشكار كند) كينه هاى شما را

اگر از مال شما خدا چیزی به اصرار هم بخواهد باز بخل می‌ورزید و کینه و خبث درونی شما را آشکار می‌سازد.

اگر او از شما پولي مي خواست، به حدي که شما را دچار سختي کند، خساست مي کرديد، و پليدي هاي نهفته تان برملا مي شد.

If He demands/asks you for it , so He asks you persistently , (so) you be stingy/miser and He brings out your hatred/grudge .

If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.

If He asks you for them, and presses you, you are niggardly, and He brings to light your rancour.

[for,] if He were to demand of you all of them, and urge you, [Sc., «to divest yourselves of all your possessions».] you would niggardly cling [to them], and so He would [but] bring out your moral failings. [For my rendering of adghan as «moral failings», see note on verse 29 above. In the present context this term has more or less the same meaning as the term fujur in 91:8. The implication is that since man has been created weak» 4:28, the imposition of too great a burden on the believers would be self-defeating inasmuch as it might result not in an increase of faith but, rather, in its diminution. This passage illustrates the supreme realism of the Quran, which takes into account human nature as it is, with all its God-willed complexity and its inner contradictions, and does not, therefore, postulate a priori an impossible ideal as a norm of human behaviour. (Cf. 91:8, which speaks of man’s personality as «imbued with moral failings as well as consciousness of God» – a phrase which is explained in the corresponding note.)]

Indien hij het geheel van u vorderde, en ernstig bij u zou aandringen, zoudt gij vrekkig worden, en het zou uwen haat tegen uw gezant opwekken.

If He were to ask you for it, to the extent of creating a hardship for you, you would become stingy, and your hidden evil might be exposed.

Se ve li chiedesse con insistenza, vi mostrereste avari e fareste trasparire il vostro odio.

If He were to ask you of it, and press you, you would covetously withhold, and He will bring out all your (secret) ill-wills.

Если же Он попросит у вас его и проявит настойчивость, то вы поскупитесь, и Он выведет наружу вашу злобу (или зависть).

Если же Он настойчиво потребует от вас имущество, а вы будете скупиться, то Он обнаружит вашу злобу.

If He should ask you for it and urge you, you will be niggardly, and He will bring forth your malice.

If He should ask it of you and importune you, ye would hoard it, and He would bring to light your (secret) hates.

He does not ask you for (all) your property; if He were to ask you for it and to press you, ye would be niggardly, and he would bring your malice out.

Eğer onları isteyip bunun için sizi zorlasaydı, cimrilik ederdiniz, böylece Allah şiddetli kinlerinizi ortaya çıkarırdı.

If He asked you for them, and presses you, you would be mean and He would expose your anger.

If He were to demand and compel you for it, you would cling to in stinginess, and He would (thus) reveal your shortcomings.

If He asked you for money, to the extent of creating a hardship for you, you might have become stingy, and your hidden evil might be exposed.

Should He ask them of you, and urge you, ye would shew yourself niggards: and He would bring your grudges to light.

If He should require the whole of you, and earnestly press you, ye would become niggardly, and it would raise your hatred against his Apostle.

Were HE to ask it of you and press you, you would be niggardly, and HE would bring to light your malice.

Sollte Er es von euch verlangen und euch drängen, ihr würdet geizig sein, und Er würde euren geheimen Groll ans Licht bringen.

А если бы у вас Он попросил его, ■ То в вас бы возыграла скупость, ■ И (тем) Он вызвал бы у вас вражду и злобу.

Әгәр сездән, малыгызны сораса хәтта сорап сезне аптыратса, саранланыр идегез вә шул саранлыгыгыз ислам диненә дошман икәнлегегезне фаш итәр.

اگر وہ تم سے مال طلب کرے اور تمہیں تنگ کرے تو تم بخل کرنے لگو اور وہ (بخل) تمہاری بدنیتی ظاہر کرکے رہے

اگر وہ تم سے اس مال کو طلب کر لے پھر تمہیں طلب میں تنگی دے تو تمہیں (دل میں) تنگی محسوس ہوگی (اور) تم بخل کرو گے اور (اس طرح) وہ تمہارے (دنیا پرستی کے باعث باطنی) زنگ ظاہر کر دے گا،
