كانُوا قَلِيلاً مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ما يَهْجَعُونَ

كانوا قليلا من اللّيل ما يهجعون

Kanoo qaleelan mina allayli ma yahjaAAoona

اندکي از شب را مي خوابيدند ،

[فقط] اندكى از شب را مى خفتند.

و شبها اندكى خواب ميكردند.

آنان اندکی از شب را می خوابیدند [و بیشتر آن را به عبادت و بندگی می گذراندند.]

ايشان كه در اندكى از شب مى‏خفتند

و از شب اندكى را مى‏غنودند.

آنها اندكى از شب را مى‏خفتند

كه اندكى از شب را مى‏خفتند.

بودند كه اندكى از شب خواب ميكردند

[چنين بود] كه اندكى از شب مى‏خوابيدند

آنها کمی از شب را می‌خوابیدند،

اندكى از شب را مى‏خفتند- و بيشتر آن را به نماز و عبادت برمى‏خاستند-.

بودند كه اندكى از شب خواب ميكردند

بودند كمى از شب را مى خوابيدند

از شب اندکی را خواب می‌کردند.

آنها به ندرت تمام شب را خوابيدند.

They were little from the night what they (spend in) sleep .

They used to sleep but little by night (invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope).

Little of the night would they slumber,

they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night,

Zij slapen slechts gedurende een klein gedeelte van den nacht.

They used to rarely sleep the whole night.

They used to sleep but little in the night.

But little of the night they slept;

Gecenin pek azında uyumaktaydılar.

They slept but a little at night,

And rarely did they fall asleep at night without reflection. (‹Haju› = Fall asleep instantly like an exhausted horse).

Rarely did they sleep the whole night.

But little of the night was it that they slept,

They slept but a small part of the night;

They slept but a little of the night;

Sie schliefen nur einen kleinen Teil der Nacht;

Сну отдавая только малую часть ночи

Төннәрдә алар аз йоклар булдылар.

رات کے تھوڑے سے حصے میں سوتے تھے

وہ راتوں کو تھوڑی سی دیر سویا کرتے تھے،
