إِنَّهُمْ كانُوا قَبْلَ ذلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ

إنّهم كانوا قبل ذلك مترفين

Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena

اينان پيش از اين در ناز و نعمت بودند

ايشان پيش از اين نازپرورده بودند.

اين عذاب بخاطر آنست كه آنان پيش از اين در ناز و نعمت از ياد خدا غافل بودند.

اینان پیش از این از نازپروردگان خود کامه و سرکش بودند،

زيرا ايشان (در دنيا) پيوسته به ناز و نعمت پرورده شده بودند (و تنعم ايشان به محرمات بوده)

اينان بودند كه پيش از اين ناز پروردگان بودند.

آنها پيش از اين در ناز و نعمت بودند

بيگمان آنان پيش از اين [در دنيا از] خوش گذرانها بودند

بدرستيكه ايشان بودند پيش از آن در ناز و نعمت

آنان پيش از اين ناز پرورده بودند

آنها پیش از این (در عالم دنیا) مست و مغرور نعمت بودند،

زيرا كه اينان پيش از اين- عذاب- سرمست از كامرانى بودند.

بدرستى كه ايشان بودند پيش از آن در ناز و نعمت

همانا ايشان بودند پيش از اين هوسرانان

این عذاب آنها را بدین سبب است که از این پیش به ناز و نعمت پرداختند.

آنها قبلاً ثروتمند بودند.

That they truly were before that luxuriated, ungrateful and arrogant.

Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,

and before that they lived at ease,

For, behold, in times gone by they were wont to abandon themselves wholly to the pursuit of pleasures, [I.e., to the exclusion of all moral considerations. For the meaning of the term mutraf, see the second note on 11:116.]

Want zij genoten de genoegens van het leven, vr dit, terwijl zij op de aarde waren.

They used to be indulged in luxury before this.

Già furono genti agiate,

Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,

Прежде они нежились роскошью,

Они ведь прежде (т. е. на земле) благоденствовали,

Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty.

Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury

Verily, they were affluent ere this,

Çünkü şomluk yâranı, bundan önce servet ve refahla şımaranlardı.

Before they lived at ease,

Behold, before this, they were sunk in luxury, exploiting the poor.

They used to be rich.

For they truly, ere this, were blessed with worldly goods,

For they enjoyed the pleasures of life before this, while on earth;

Before this they lived in a life of ease and plenty,

Vor diesem waren sie in der Tat verbraucht durch Üppigkeit

Ведь жизнь, полную (греховных) удовольствий, ■ Они до этого вели,

Тәхкыйк алар дөньяда вакытта нигъмәт ияләре булып азган иделәр.

یہ لوگ اس سے پہلے عیشِ نعیم میں پڑے ہوئے تھے

بیشک وہ (اہلِ دوزخ) اس سے پہلے (دنیا میں) خوش حال رہ چکے تھے،
